MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Respected Sweet FA poster Gibbsy has launched a bid to update the branding of the internet's largest fantasy football simulator league with a proposal to renew the league's ageing logo. The announcement comes at a time of progression within the competition, with nearly every club updating its logo and/or playing uniform during the last two seasons.
When quizzed for his reasoning behind the proposed change, Gibbsy was frank.
"It just came to me that with the overhauls occurring at club level, the league logo seemed almost neglected and was showing signs of becoming outdated.
"The last thing I'd want is for the league to be held back in terms of its marketability. I feel like this will further enhance the status of the SFA," Gibbsy said.
The logo aims to retain the basic elements of the current effort, designed by league legend and Sweet FA creator Mobbenfuhrer. The predominant colours of green and blue are kept, albeit softened slightly to move towards what Gibbsy described as a "2012 look". The four separate arcs represent the four goalposts present at each end of the football field.
Gibbsy hopes that his proposal will be considered by league admin boncer34 and wishes to attract as much as support as possible from the SFA's mainstays.
