Pants on Pants Presents: Pants on the Grand Final.
The Warriors are arguably the best side of the last two seasons, more amazing is this is only there second year in the competition. A well run side filled with top quality players the side has gone from strength to strength and only a sad sack of shit would begrudge them winning grand final number one. In reality the Warriors divide opinion about themselves, are they A grade or are they C grade crap? Stats speak for themselves here and the quality of Coney Island shines through.
On the other hand we have the nWo (or is it?) Dragons who caused a massive uproar before the season after "taking over" the Sweet FA. Lead by The Filth Wizard the Dragons picked up a bunch of scraps from other clubs and overnight turned themselves into powerhouse of inactivity. A strong season 19 from the Dragons have seen them get to the grand final is swell fashion and they will be looking to sign off the nWo gimmick with a big win and this no doubt becomes a title match for the heavyweight championship of the world.
How they got here:
The Dragons defeated the Furies in a tight contest in the prelim, after a slow start the Dragons kicked into gear in the second and never looked back. The Furies attempted but the pussies couldn't get on top. The Dragons ended up recording a solid 14 point win away from home. Not an easy win but one that will bode well for the grand final. A tough slog will keep the Dragons focused.
The Warriors did it a bit easier against the fancied Roys outfit. In fact a second quarter blitz saw the Warriors go into half time with a nice lead of which they never looked back on, Stronzo added a lazy 7 goals and it was an easy win in the end by the Warriors defeating the limp Roys by 34 points. Cruised for most of the match and might do a lot of heavy work during the week to try and find out what it's like to be challenged in a match.
Player to watch:
Dragons - Hate
Hate will need a dominant game in the ruck for the Dragons if they are a chance to win this game. He has had a solid season but now is the time to arrive, he needs to control the contest and find his midfield at every chance. The all important cog in the side. If the Dragons lose the ruck battle they lose the game.
Warriors - Stronzo
I mentioned him before, 7 goals in a prelim is an amazing feat. In fact Stronz (only I can call him that) is scoring goals for fun in the finals. Simply put if Stronz is allowed to run wild again then what cha gunna do Dragons? Whatcha gunno do when Stronz runs wild over you? Because if he does kick another bag of 7 goals or more then the Warriors are drinking booze from the premiership cup and not like last season when they just stole it, this time they would have won it.

Final thoughs:
Another season of the Sweet FA is about to end. We are one game away from closing S19 and looking towards the milestone of S20. Most will say this shortened S19 was more of an in the way season which we just tried to get out of the way for the big one. Certainly a shorter season than we thought but nonetheless a team needs to prevail and sit atop the Sweet FA mountain as the champs, spending a season mocking those below them and enjoying the moment. It's been a strange season for many this time around, interest from the veterans has dropped and we've seen several players leave the league during the year, others have retired at the end. We've had captains roulette played at some clubs and other clubs with captains who seem surprised they had to do something other than hold a title. We've seen name changes for the better and worse and we've seen free agency explode end of season. We've seen gimmicks and meltdowns, we've seen good and seen bad. We've raised money for charity and seen a fresh stock of rookies jump on the scene we've even seen the Bears win a game, several times, in a row (fact checking required). It's been a strange season but one that should build towards a healthier future. But before we get to S20 let me give my tips for the game which is upon us.
Predictions
- Deestroy Medalist: BigJoeD
- Winner: Coney Island Warriors
- Margin: 16 point.
- Worst player: PVF. No touches.
- Weather Forecast: Clear skies unless Juggs shows up then it will be pouring rain. Floods even.

On Sunday evening either The Filth Wizard or his arch nemesis Frankston Rover will be imagining lifting a premiership trophy in celebration of a record breaking win. Good luck to both sides and hopefully we see an encounter for the ages. No arguments that both sides deserve to be here and no doubt this thread will deliver. We may even see a FilthySanchez sighting so get your binoculars out bird watchers.
