Ok everyone, favourite Illmatic track?

Mine's probably a popular choice but it has to be Life's a Bitch. AZ spits fire on this
right here:

"My pen taps the paper then my brain's blank
I see dark streets, hustling brothers who keep the same rank
Pumping for something, some'll prosper, some fail"

i actually caught the show at sugar mountain, i swear his voice has barely changed. still that high-pitched nasily sound. as JD11 said, it's really pre-kendrick. he was going a bit hard at some points, but the jazzier track came off well. it always sounds weird when someone's saying N***** to a crowd of white australians. the world is yours was definetly the highlight.

Don't get me wrong I love Eazy but he's one of the most overrated rappers ever.

His music was ghost written and he was an average rapper.

I don't think anyone rates him as a great rapper but his voice man....and Cube got him flowing oh so nicely.

This dude would have been one of the greats but a car accident destroyed his voice box....

People should checkout 'Yasiin Gaye - The Departure (Side One)' created by Amerigo Gazaway. A mixture of Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Marvin Gaye is just awesome.

Side One

Amerigo Gazaway was also responsible for:
  • the 'Fela Soul' mixtape (Fela Kuti, Nigerian afrobeat legend and De La Soul)
  • the 'Bizarre Tribe: A Quest to the Pharcyde' mixtape (ATCQ and Pharcyde)
  • the 'Yasiin Gaye - The Return (Side Two)' mixtape (another Bey and Marvin Gaye collab)
Highly recommend these.
