DOA: Dead or Alive

Starring: Jaime Pressley, Holly Valance, Devon Aoki, Sarah Clarke, Eric Roberts.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398913/

Loosely based on the video game of the same name, this movie panders to every young man's dream of action and girls. Directed by legendary Hong Kong director Corey Yuen.

Plot: 1/10. Reading the ATO Tax Pack Capital Gains Supplement Sheet made more sense.
Perve factor: 10/10. Purdy girls, and definitely weren't afraid to show 'em.
Action: 8/10. Stylish and well-choreographed sequences, you'd expect nothing less from Yuen.
Overall: 5/10. The perfect popcorn film - short and sweet and completely cheesy. The film only runs about 90 minutes and it's just the perfect length for the viewer to laze back and let go of him/herself and enjoy girls in skimpy outfits hitting the crap out of each other and everyone who gets in their way.

Re: The Movie Thread

I am a ****ing beast at DOA the ps2 game.
I would give the plot 2/10.

Re: The Movie Thread

The Godfather - One of the best movies ever created.

I'm a great reviewer. I'll review Hills Have Eyes soon. Want everyone to watch it.

Re: The Movie Thread

Dogma - Everything a Kevin Smith movie should be. Best thing he has done after his Debut Outing "Clerks" and if you want something that will give you A-List Actors and a different take on the Catholic Church then this is your movie. 8/10

Other movies to try - Hard Candy, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and the Bourne Triolgy.

Dogma was excellent:thumbsu: I thought Chasing Amy was underrated too.

Re: The Movie Thread

Hot Fuzz is awesome. I only ever watched the Bourne Trilogy for one reason, really.

You watched the Bourne Trilogy because of Hot Fuzz? Was Simon Pegg in it, Edgar Wright? I didn't recognise them.

Re: The Movie Thread

Then you girls would dig Dogma, as Matt Damin is in it in a central role playing the angel of death who has been cast out of heaven and has found a way back in via loophole. Just watch it, funny and the Mooby's Boardroom Bit is a pointer to a future role...

As for Chasing Amy good movie, just a poor ending (but love the cameo from Matt Damon in it).

Re: The Movie Thread

I've been inspired to quickly rate all of Kevin Smiths movies

1. Clerks
2. Dogma
3. Mall Rats
4. Chasing Amy
5. Clerks 2 (Was disappointed the first time I watched it but it grew on me)
6. Jay and Silent bob strike back

Hmmm... I think I've forgotten a couple.

Jersey Girl. Lolz.

Have you seen his stand up shows, pretty freaking hilarious.

Jersey Girl. Lolz.

Don't forget Zack and Miri Make a Porno which is his best non Jay and Slient Bob movie yet (I know not saying much when the bar to jump is Jersey Girl) and is basically Chasing Amy with the humor of Mallrats with it revolving around the making of a Porno. I'd watch it again for the cameo by Justin Long alone.

If your talking the Double Set Q&A DVD, then YES. Another one has been released in the States for quite a while but no Aussie release date has been set. But yep it bloody hilarious.

Re: The Movie Thread

Ahh Forgot about Zak and Miri too. That was awesome, Slot that one in at number 3 and shove Jerzy girl at the bottom.

Haven't seen it yet, hoping to snag a copy soon.

It's been available at JB Hi-Fi for a couple of years now. Apparently he has a 3rd one out, haven't seen that one yet.

Re: The Movie Thread
