Pretty certain that's Lennon, great to see. He's really bulked up a lot.

Thought initially it may have been Hammer or Soldo, but a couple of pause-play-pause-rewind-repeats have me thinking its Lennon. Not only has he bulked up, looks like he grown a couple of cm.

But gee McKenzie looks massive, seems to have some game sense about him as well purely from the newest training video.

Morris would be a great small defensive forward if we wanted someone to shut down the other team's run out of the back half and try and trap the ball in there.

Anyone know how he goes with set shots? Don't think I can recall ever seeing him kick one before (goals are a bit of a rarity for him!). Good to see the club trying to add another string to his bow. Wonder if he would be a possible option as a run with player given his love of tackling and blocking?

How can you forget his goal of the year contender against the Hawks?

I would love to see him played as a tagger. Has mongrel, strength and discipline combined with pace and a defensive attitude.

Small forwards are just about the most skilled and creative types in the game - neither of which describes Morris. He'd apply great pressure but I don't see him offering much offensively up there. Depends on the plan I spose.

Agree brother.

Now I am a stern beleiver in Morris. During last season when he was coping it, i always defended him as I really do believe his shoulder effected his disposal BUT we did try him at the start of last season as a small forward if memory serves. His one main weakness Morris has is that he can get sucked into the contest. He will often dive in to tackle to get the ball, which is great but backfires often when he does not get it and his man is then lose to stream the ball the other way.

If Morris can get better at knowing when to leave his man to engage a contest, then we will have a winner. Its up to him. I still believe, as a defensive small back to lock the ball in and dish off to a runner is his best role.

Yeah, agreed. And if he can't kick, presumably he'll have a low conversion rate, which means plenty of opposition kick outs, which means plenty of opportunities for the opposition to set up from defence.

I spose an advantage he has is that he knows how to beat a small forward from a defender's perspective, so probably vice versa too. We'll see.

I still think Morris has a lot too offer as a small back, not sure I like him playing up the ground. Certainly would prefer McDonough or Lloyd as a small forward although I can see merit in him as a tagger.

RFC_Official anyone you can see alongside Hunt and Drummond training with the backs who you could see playing off half back? A Vlastuin or a Lennon perhaps?

A couple of years ago we were crying out for a competent small defender after Betts and Milne and Co. piled on 6+ goals each when we played them. Along comes Morris and solves that problem (or at least to some degree makes it less of a problem).

Now we might look at moving him OUT of the back line!? I hope not
Agree. Was really good in 2013. Wasn't very good last year when we tried to make him a more offensive player. Would like to see him return to his more defensive role where he shut nearly everyone down.

Anyone know where lennon and vlastuin are training. Looks like lennon was in the backline in the backline in the training vid. Don't mind that as i see him having similar qualities to Brendon goddard who made a name for himself there before becoming a gun utility. Was hoping to see more of vlas in the middle though

I reckon Morris should stay a defender, especially now Batch has cemented himself in the side as that floating loose defender. That means that Morris doesn't have to worry about impacting any other contest apart from his own. He is defensive minded first. Let him defend.
