Interesting to hear Twomey say we'd be the best fit for Smilie. I'm not sure I agree. We already have Taranto to be that big bodied bash and crash mid.

Imo what we probably need more is:
1. a high endurance transition mid (think Prestia); and
2. a speedy clearance winning mid with quick hands through traffic (think Shedda)

Ideally both need to be really good users of the footy because Taranto and Hopper aren't, and they need to run hard both ways.

Agreed this period is crucial but he doesn’t select the players we draft, he has input for sure on positions required to be targeted etc but ultimately, it’s recruiters and scouts that recommend and select the player.

Was just watching some highlights of him last night , and thinking what a classy wing/outside mid he’d be.
Anyway he probably slips now and someone gets a bargain

If he slips to the 2nd round you’d be silly not to get him even with an ACL. Get him in our program and could play 2nd half of next year.
