North Melbourne 14.9.93 def Essendon 9.14.68

North Melbourne

BoomerFan99 – Why is Duck so negative?

DesertRoo – Duck wants us to win a premiership, he’s just telling it like it is. We should’ve beaten them by over a hundred tonight with such a dominant ruck display.

Giantroo – [jwplayer mediaid=”9380″]

Essendon

Loonerty – DELIST STEINBERG!!!!!!!

He was the only reason we lost this game. Not the fact that we got absolutely manhandled by the best ruckman in the league, not the fact that we’re playing an AA defender as a key forward and expecting him to kick our goals, not the fact that we had very few stand out performers in midfield.

Matthew_Lloyd – Gave it a red-hot crack with a very young side playing. Not disappointed, but there are lots of areas in which we can improve upon.

Also, play Giles next week. I don’t care if he is EDFL division 3 standards, we can’t rely on McKernan to go in the ruck again.

Geelong 10.12.72 def Western Bulldogs 9.10.64

Geelong

dazbroncos – Great win, if somewhat ugly. Great game by Caddy as well.

Daniel McL – Very hard fought. So many mistakes & horrible use of the ball.
But Caddy stepped up incredibly.
Duncan return was amazing considering first game for over 8 weeks.
Don’t know if there was one individual on Stringer but keeping him to 1 (or 2?) goals was a very good effort!

Bulldogs

fargy – Straight in the bin that game. Cats were woeful, we were worse. I’m forgetting that game ever happened.

threenewpadlocks – Game was lost when they kicked 3 goals with 3 inside 50’s to begin the third quarter when we had about 10 Inside 50’s and kicked 2.
It’s tough to win a match when you’re playing catch-up for the entire game.
Not the end of the world fellas. Sure, they might have lost Selwood but Bartel and Duncan are two players that they haven’t had much of this year and we got both of them.
We’re still in a prime position to play finals. Beat North Round 22 and it’s ours for the taking.

Gold Coast Suns 10.12.72 def by GWS 13.16.94

Gold Coast

Corkie – Really happy with the effort of 95% of the team today.

A few passengers that didn’t lift when needed in the last qtr but with the addition of Prestia, O’Meara & Swallow through the midfield & Bennell, Martin & Dixon up forward, we would run away with the win.

Lots of positives.

Bazza37 – Apart from Gazza and Rischitelli it concerns me that Touk Miller and Adam Saad have been the Suns best this year. Touk was superb today. He’s got better since Gazza’s come back.

GWS

GWS_Tragic – Will take that. Wow, a frustrating game to watch for a lot of it, but we are winning these tight games and learning to grind em out. Suns did very well given how undermanned they are.

Andre the Giant – Aiden Corr came of age today, this kid has copped heaps because any of his mistakes usually result in goals. Has great speed and showing good defensive instincts. Smith, Shaw, Ward, Cogs (great job on God), Lobb all tremendous. Still up and down but we now have the gumption to work through tough moments. Very proud of the boys!!

Collingwood 7.14.56 def by West Coast Eagles 11.21.87

Collingwood

tesselate_ – I’m sick of Jesse White going missing when it’s his turn to stand up. 4 Marks, 0 Contested, 0 Marks Inside 50, 0 goals is not even close to good enough. Had to provide, at minimum, a target out of defence and 4 marks is just a joke.

Mr Bombastic – Seedsman please never come back. White is useless as well whenever he goes for a pack mark he literally closes his eyes. Also Blair and Kennedy not being able to kick 35 metres. Varcoe I was wrong about you, you are a ******* gun.

Soaring Magpie – Worst display for the year, disposal was horrendous and very little effort from too many players.

West Coast

HoneyBadger35 – + A deserved win, we cost ourselves a lot with poor kicking and accuracy, but that volume of inside 50 will pay off more often than not
+ Gaff continues to churn it up
+ Nic Nat stood up in the last
+ Cripps and LeCras are damaging as anything
+ Hugely impressed with Priddis’ game. Can be hugely frustrating at times but actually linked up and was damaging today
+ Might cop some heat for this but Sinclair was excellent around the ground today. Can’t kick for shit, woeful as a forward, but outside of our 50 he was very handy
+ Wellingham, Schoey, SHEP been massive and were solid again today
+ Won a 22 vs 27 contest, cause the goal umpires were in on it too
+ Top of the ladder for a few hours ;)

– Umpiring, doesn’t need further elaboration
– Goal review system, scrap it if that’s the result
– McGovern injury, welcome to the team Tom Barrass
– Selwood struggled again, Masto’s skills were woeful at the start and JD did nothing after the first 5 minutes
– Very susceptible to goals over the top, and we saw that again today.

Sydney 7.15.57 def by Hawthorn 23.8.146

Sydney

Olian

1. Hawks are peaking but too early.
2. If Longmire comes out and says we just need to work harder he should be sacked.
3. Tippett should be dropped. Longmire needs to make a statement.
4. We aren’t top 4 material at the moment.
5. Can’t even blame Rhyce Shaw this week.
6. Jones needs to stop giving away stupid free kicks.
7. Time to bring some youth in with hunger for the game

Troystenvic

1. Nothing has changed from last year.
2. I’ve said it more than once. Longmire is not the man for the job. Stuey Dew should coach and Kirky and Micky O should be assistants.
3. Trade ban has hurt us against the better sides. We could have gone out and got some defenders last year and been ok. We still cant this year either. It really really hurts.
4. Jetta and Tippett would have been perfect trade bait yet the ban stuffs us.

Hawthorn

grizzlym

Well done on the 700 goals, Buddy. You were a two-time Premiership hero. A favoured son.

Then you went and headed north to play for a minnow. It shocked us all.

You fled success. The chance for more flags to help grow the game in Sydney.

You were selfless. A servant of the AFL and the game.

You chose to forgo personal and team success to play for that rabble.

We salute you Buddy. Enjoy the personal milestone. We’ll just go about the business of winning flags.

Fremantle 13.17.95 def Carlton 8.5.53

Fremantle

Stronzo – Seemed like we did enough without being particularly damaging or showing any great form.

Mundy was better, but Fyfe was kept quiet once again.

A. Pearce, another great game. Thought McPharlin looked a bit out of sorts. Sheridan looked good running the ball out of the back half. Sutcliffe was ordinary, but I think he should be persisted with over Duffield.

Good to see Mayne kick a few, though he really should’ve slotted that last one. Pav looking better, I hope he’s on his way back to his form from the start of the year. I thought Griffen did well.

Dirty_banchez – We failed to kick over 100 points yet again.
-Forward line entries are still crap.
-42 point margin does not reflect how rubbish we played.

Carlton

carlton2dabone – The one thing that explains tonight is that we chipped backwards and sideways so many times when our players simply do not have the skills to carry out such a precision passing style of game.

Whether it’s the coaching panel that’s instructing the players to play that way or whether its the players not wanting to put in the extra effort to run and carry and spread, I don’t know.
But someone like Yarran hardly ever runs and takes on any players anymore, so maybe this answers the question, who knows.

F the rest – The 2014 analog to this game was the mauling against Port. We have a tough, competitive group of young blokes, all we can hope for is the same intensity next week. Oh, and for the senior guys to execute basic skills. That would also be nice.

Melbourne 8.12.60 def Brisbane 4.12.36

Melbourne

wowlace – Good: Jesse kicking a mini bag.
Bad: Umpiring
Fugly: We won’t win anymore games this season.

deeco – Good:
-Frank
-Hogan
-Hogan bringing the lulz during the song just then

Bad:
-Failing to find a good strikethrough text site to wipe out the us moving up the ladder part :rainbow:

Fugly:
-Worst game of football I’ve ever seen

Demonblog – By christ, it’s a win when starting as favourites. I won’t be able to fully comprehend this until Monday night at the earliest – and there’s no chance in hell I’ll be watching a replay before then.

Come back after 8pm Monday or watch Twitter or Facebook for a link.

Brisbane

BeamStar17 – 4 goals in a game of footy says it all.

That was horrible to watch, couldn’t imagine trying to convert somebody over to AFL in the modern era.

If the World Cup was to ever come to Australia, I’d seriously be worried if I was the AFL.

maroon and blue – Ambivalent to Leppa, either he is in a fog and hasn’t a clue or he is smart as a fox and is rebuilding for the future. But that’s not our problem, if and when we start winning us rusted on supporters will be swamped by fly by nighters till the next downturn. Our biggest priority is to develop loyal supporters. In every state. Can’t rely on Brisbane alone. Our biggest challenge is to widen our national supporter base
P.S. Red cordial contains at least 12 grams of sugar per glass. (That’s 3 teaspoons.)

LIONS08 – It’s true that it was our most experienced team and really the first time our mids got to work together but you can not expect them to work and gell instantly. This year was always going to be tough. We have had an absolutely massive turnover on our list the last two years and I expect this year to be the same. You can’t put a team on the park and expect them to work together straight away. It will get better!! We will still pinch a couple of wins this year. Leppa is taking this club in the right direction. Don’t get me wrong it has been a bloody tough season, but once the guys play a few more games together it will improve and we will finish the year strong!!!

Port Adelaide 17.11.113 def by Adelaide 18.8.116

Port Adelaide

Macca19 – A fitting result really. One team wanted to win.

During the week and on the podcast I stated my concern about how this game would play out and in the end my concerns were valid. Adelaide were always going to come out firing and it was up to us to go with the. In the end we were too pedestrian when it mattered and once again it was a predictable comeback when the heat went out of the game only to fall dramatically short. End script.

The club has killed my enjoyment of come backs and close games over the last 2 years. How many times have we seen a comeback in the last 10 minutes only to lose by a kick since the start of 2014? 6 or 7? It’s not good enough. Whilst everyone else is going rabid around me, screeching, screaming, jumping up and down, i’m sat there in silence knowing that we’ll only fall a kick short. So damn predictable.

I wont criticise the effort. The effort was there. We tried hard. We went in hard. It was just the kicking, marking, running, gameplan, decision making, goal kicking, stoppage set ups, defensive set ups, lack of 2nd string midfielders and inability to be switched on for 100% of the quarter that cost us. (Continued)

Dylan8 – A win would have simply been more cracks covered in winning wallpaper. Ball use and fumbles needs to be addressed rigorously from now until season 2016. Forward structure and entries are totally coaching dependant. Over to you, Ken.

Adelaide

Scorpus – One of the greatest wins this club has ever produced, especially considering the circumstances. What a ripping game of football that honored Phil Walsh’s life in the best possible way.

As he would say, that was a masterpiece.

Sanders – Can I just say I love how calm, centred & composed Campo always seems to be. He looks focused, and intense, but always calm and composed. Throughout the game, after the game. Carries himself well.

Bosley – Just stopped shaking enough to post. Gee that was hard to watch from thousands of kms away. Thought my heart was going to come out of my chest, it was beating so hard in the last couple of minutes.

What ….. a ……… WIN!!!

St Kilda 10.13.73 def by Richmond 13.11.89

St Kilda

MilneMagic – Wasn’t it bloody fantastic to see Paddy and Hugh running around together!

Great fightback by the boys, it’s the competitiveness I love!

AuntieBarrels – Armo is a gun.

-Roo. Nothing needs to be said.

-Savage and Weller were our best players out there today. Weller was just amazing, and Savage was very good from start to finish; hitting targets and endless effort from him.

-Dunstan showed why he belongs in our first 22 today. I hate it when there’s all this talk of dropping him. He’s quality.

-And Paddy and Hugh showed that they belong in the AFL in their first season. Can’t wait for this duo to get into their prime, they will destroy teams week after week.
Paddy was leading well, good off the ground and his second efforts were solid as well. Glad he kicked the first of many to come.
Hugh was very composed for a first gamer and played well from the beginning to the end as well. He should play the remaining games if fit.

-Eli doesn’t belong in the AFL yet. Needs to keep playing VFL and getting those 25-30 touches. Looks devoid of confidence. A bit soft out there for my liking.

-disappointed in some of our senior players today, poor disposal. Especially from Steven and Fisher. Would really like Steven to improve his kicking efficiency.

But that game just defines who we are as a team. We never stop fighting. Yes, our first 3 quarters were appalling, but I love what Richo has brought to this club, the spirit of all our players is amazing. I am very proud of being a Sainter. #fightlikemaddie

Richmond

TheProwler – Guys obviously thought they had done enough at 3qtr time

Disrespectful to the opposition, disrespectful to your fans, disrespectful to each other. Hang your heads boys with the last qtr effort.

Boob_Radley – Well, three pretty good quarters is better than the one we’ve played in the past two games.

I loved Lennon.

Hate
