Horses have useful stuff issuing from their rears. Good for garden growth type stuff. Especially loyal blue horses.

Would we be interested in Rhys Stanley at all? If Casboult were to leave and Philips, he could come in as that serviceable backup ruck/fwd. good depth in the VFL to come in for injuries
No way. We don’t need serviceable. Stanley doesn’t get a game ahead of Kreuzer, Phillips, McKay, Curnow, McGovern, TDK to start with.

Serviceable is exactly what you need from a backup ruck. Don’t hate the idea personally but depends what other ruck we recruit.

He has a elite kick...better suited to kicking to a lead than to a contest or across ground..it is controversial but not ridiculous
Dont worry , Samo will end up in the midfield just as Weitering ended up down back..
But to help get us out of a funk of 4 wins 300 losses or whatever it was we needed experience in the middle. So Samo went down back and did a bloody great job I thought.
And to say his kicking is better suited to hitting a lead up than a contest is just strange. A release kick out of D50 to a target when the other team has pressed up is pretty much the hardest kick in footy these days.

Stanley would easily get a game in front of Phillips and TDK.

He turns 25 in Jan only manged 97 games. Hardly set the world on fire to command a first round pick. No way is that fair value IMO.

He will be to Charlie/McKay/McGov and co what Ryan Houlihan was to Fev. Kicking the ball inside 50 to advantage.
He may not get the ball as much as a pure midfielder, but he is the one you want to give the ball to.

The experience behind the ball and working defensively will make him ever betterer when he goes back in the middle

I really liked SPS off HBF this year. His creativity was perfectly suited to finding targets and maintaining possession coming out of D50. Will get even better at it with more experience, too.
I agree that his skills are also nice forward of centre. Wouldn't it be nice to have two of him > well actually, we might just in a way.....
Would be happy for SPS to be the defensive playmaker and Martin the attacking playmaker.

Put Stocker next to Cripps and the opposition won’t win many clearances in 2021 or beyond.

I think Stocker is a pure midfielder.
He is a solid body, with some good burst pace and clean skills.
Think he's more inside burst than distributor. Kind of like what we expect Dow to become but with better kicking.

Reckon McKay and Levi might drop down the league's contested marking ladder once we start hitting them lace out instead of kicking it on top of their heads!

I think he was held back this year because of media pressure regarding the swap of picks. It will be interesting to see how he develops next year.
