BTW people, I might add that I think SOS would be extremely wary of giving pick 9 directly to Sydney for Papley because if Sydney then use that pick as part of the Daniher trade, then that gives * 3 top 10 picks.
2 of those picks could then be used to recruit an elite mid, making one of the mid tier competitors stronger.
I doubt SOS will allow that to happen, especially if an elite mid gets linked to * early on, such as Wines.
I’d certainly rate Zurhar ahead of Butler.
Cost in $ and picks would be similar.

So you would trade a pick knowing that it would end up in the hands of another team that is also borderline when it comes to making the finals?
Sorry but I am far more ruthless than that.
i agree that you do what strengthens your position at the time but you also don't give a free kick to a traditional rival

Who cares what picks Essendon get? By the time kids they draft this year are any good, their current core will be past it. They're going nowhere fast.
Papley for 9+/- is and shall remain good business for us, so we will do it.
Reid used the phrase ‘work through ‘ three times in three consecutive sentences.
‘Nuff said.
Reid just no doubt repeating his therapist’s mantra that he has a lot of issues to “work through” after his terrifying encounter with SOS.
I pressed like after I read the very first sentence. Agree, who cares what Essendon do. I only care what SOS does.Who cares what picks Essendon get? By the time kids they draft this year are any good, their current core will be past it. They're going nowhere fast.

I know I’m just being cheeky....It is, JK, if one has a basic level of comprehension, which, it seems you do.![]()

not worried at all, until barass70 comes out and says it's dead..Anyone worried re: games being played in the media for Martin and Papley, just listen to Wells (Geelong) now say that a deal for Steven (St. Kilda) is a long way off. Yet, Steven will be at Geelong with 99.3% certainty by the end of the trade period.
All games at this point.
Who are the ”wee” and “poos”?
Would hamper us getting Whitfield next year....Why try trading for Gaff when you can pinch him as F/A next year for free ?
Now if we're talking about Luke Shuey, yes please, come to Papa !!!
Sorry to be boring and to make the next 2 weeks boring, but our trade season is already set:
Papley will be at Carlton for Pick 9'ish
Martin will be at Carlton for an early 2nd'ish.
Betts will be at Carlton for laughs n giggles at Young Reid's expense.
One of Butler or Cutler MAY be at Carlton for not much.
That's it.
All the excitement of discovery for us peeps has been had. Now the LM's just do the paperwork.
Meanwhile the circus will be in overdrive. We'll all willingly submit to it, enjoy it, curse it and generally have a ball.
Then onto the next episode. The Draft. Then Pre-season etc etc
We delisted Schumacher in preparation for the return of the great one in no19.
Exactly. Trade radio starts a week too early.not worried at all, until barass70 comes out and says it's dead..
The media have NOTHING to talk about at the moment because nothing is happening. They are just Sh!t stirring, trying to create content..
