Geelong would have the following if the Telly trade goes down: 14, 17, 24, 36.

Would be more than happy to trade the 9 and 41 for 14 and 24, same as with the Weagles. They use 36 for Steven and take 9, 17 and 41 to the draft. We use both picks on Papley and Martin.

I think everyone wins in that one.

Many a good poster has been badgered here, parrot is another I miss parrot an absolute hoot.

I like the diversity that different posters bring, varying opinions, I’m an old gal so I reckon you youngins need to be more tolerant :oldwoman: :peace:🕊

This is an interesting thought.

I wonder if the List Management team are thinking long-term about this in our current dealings for Jack Martin?

Do we look at slightly paying 'overs' for Jack to build a good trading relationship with GC down the track (i.e. when Rowell is OOC and looking to return home).

Im pretty confident that Silvagni and the team would judge every proposition on its merits, but some would argue that Rowell (or any GC recruit) eventually wanting to return home is a fait accompli and even then, pre-draft club allegiences mean very little when it comes down to business.

Lets be honest - "good trading relationships" won't mean shit if a club comes after GC's shiny new #1 draftee at the end of his initial contract, especially given he's likely going to be the anchor for Anderson as well, and losing one probably means losing the other.

The Suns aren't going to say "Well, Carlton gave us an extra third rounder for Martin, so I suppose we should be nice and let them have Rowell for slight unders."

It was fun to think that there may be a mystery player.

TBPH I’d be completely ecstatic about landing Papley, Martin and Betts in one trade period.

Papley finished 4th in their BnF and was their leading goal kicker. Exactly what we need.

Martin was being touted as the next big thing in his draft year, imagine what he’ll achieve at a real football club.

Betts for a year or two is strategic and calculated. He WILL boost membership, I have no doubt in that.

I’m truly excited about landing those three, couldn’t give two ***ts about anyone else

You slot those three into the forward line and not only are we infinitely more dangerous when the ball hits the deck, we are 3-4 goals a game better imo.

Add Doc back in and we are a completely different side. I’ll probably tear up seeing he and Betts run out together.

I understand it’s human nature to want more but I think adding those 4 to the mix in 2020 is gargantuan.

Just my opinion 🙂
Yep, if we add Papley, Martin and Betts + a fit Doc and Willo be time to cue "Everything is Awesome".

Bring on 2020!

So your saying the players can't play a bit of basketball in the off season. If that's the case then they will come back after their break unfit. They are aloud to have a bit of fun, accidents happen

Exactly.

Not like he was jet skiing....

I reckon Sydney is holding up the Daniher Papley deal...Carlton has enquired about pinotet re Phillips and the airport has enquired about Cox re Daniher
Hey Rosscoe, who is the airport if you don’t mind my asking ?

The Fisher rumour is garbage. Not going anywhere

Bloody hope so. I would be shattered to lose Fish. So would Cripps. They are very good mates.

I'd only consider losing Fish if we were bringing in a very, very good mature inside mid.

Shuey 30
Redden 29
Yeo 27
Hurn 32
Cripps 29
Kelly 26
Kennedy 32
Natanui 29
Gaff 27
Sheppard 29
Hutchins 28
Vardy 28
Jetta 30
Schofield 30

That's a lot you can't replace by giving up 3 picks inside 30 over two years.
Kelly, Yeo and Shuey aren’t that old until next year though. Along with Gaff they all have between 3-5 years left, so that’s the core set. Barrass, McGovern and Darling plus a couple of young promising KPP coming through and their spine is set for 5 years.
For me they probably only need role players from now on anyway so probably the ideal time to do it

Just on the Kelly trade, I know it's different due to free agency, but the Tigers identified an elite target and paid a lot. He comes in and wins them a flag immediately. Youve gotta overpay for quality.

Re T Lynch - very, very different.

“Paid a lot”.........

Free Agent - so cost them nothing in picks.

Supposedly took “unders” and is on less $ than at GCS.

Think you might on the wrong horse with that theory.

Now to convince them to book a Collective Minds camp...

I’d love to see the Crows do the camp again but I think Collective Minds can’t do it with them again. I think you need to have half your senior side returning from one year to the next for Adelaide to book another camp.
