It is obvious that this situation is being used by the gay activists as a vehicle to promote their cause. A good example was in this morning's press where some hitherto little known gay rights activist is calling for Finlayson to get 5 weeks in line with the Tex Walker penalty.

Jeremy put his hand up, accepted the penalty so I am moving on and leaving the queers to wallow in their indignation.

There will be no wallowing by the activists as they have a victim olympics to win.

If this is public, why is not the AFL investigating this. It was only last season. Why is not the LGBTIQ+ community not up in arms about the AFL not investigation and/or penalising this player? Why are the papers keeping the name of this person under wraps as we have a right to know who this player is? I have 100 more questions…..

Edit: if true , six weeks for not owning up and apologising. Club did not report it, looses all draft picks for two years.

I don't quibble at all with the penalty given to Finlayson. However, I do have a problem with the lack of a substantive penalty for Clarkson. Also, handing down Finlayson's penalty without expressly saying "we ****ed up with Alistair" just reinforces everything we think of the AFL.

A lot of words even inappropriate slurs, have always been said in the heat of the battle. I am not saying this is okay.

Imagine however if the current AFL administration were in charge of the ADF.

A country declares war on Australia and young Aussie soldiers in combat are overheard directing inappropriate slurs at the enemy.

Would these leaders immediately suspend all of these troops for three weeks with compulsory training added on?

Perhaps, at least in this day and age.

Nothing wrong with pointing out the hypocrisy, but the conclusion to be reached is that Clarkson should have been treated more harshly, not that Finlayson should have been treated less harshly.
