Preview R7: Changes vs. Brisbane Lions

I don't think there even is a 2nd ruck problem. The only teams actually running the dual ruckmen are running 2 (or more) bonafide ruckmen. Sydney, Bulldogs (prior to English injury), Gold Coast and Melbourne are all just rolling the single ruck for the most part with pinch hits from randoms on...

Preview R7: Changes vs. Brisbane Lions

Edwards holds his place, simple. Has shown more in 1 game than others in 20-30. Different positions and all but geez. big impact. Especially when we needed it in the 2nd quarter. Out - Nankervis (looked out of sorts, poor defensive decisions) In - Dawson Taylor and Maley are basically seat...

Preview R6: Changes vs. St Kilda

They weren't on par really on par though. Soligo had a consistently okay game, no big mistakes, a solid 5/10. Taylor had quite a bit of a mare. Over the course of the whole year I would say they are right on par with each other. Taylor is definitely not league's ahead of Soligo and vice versa...

Preview R6: Changes vs. St Kilda

Ok but you say that but if we truly do reward performance, there are still a handful of players behind Soligo most weeks. Last week certainly Jones, ROB, Pedlar and Bond were behind him. This week we lose a player with injury (Hinge) and already have a forecasted move of Butts in for Borlase...

Preview R6: Changes vs. St Kilda

I'd argue it was just bad luck, He didnt look underdone at all and was right back into some solid form and showed exactly what we were missing. The way he did it was exactly how everyone else is doing hamstrings this year. Standing still to flat out running and jumping to spoil a ball.

Preview R6: Changes vs. St Kilda

Nobody is putting any selection pressure on him whatsoever. He's not playing well but who else do we play back there? Bond is just worse, I've seen enough to like Cook more on a wing instead of in defence aswell, made some crazy bad defensive decisions last night.

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

How is Bond stiff to be dropped? He actually doesn't do anything like at all. Laird is genuinely just better than him and that's saying something because Laird wasn't off to a flyer himself this year. Bond needs to work on his offence from defence badly, gives us nothing.

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

Spot on. We'll probably turn the ball over more but thats the risk all the good teams are taking and it's the way we need to play. I strongly suspect all the Hinge doubters are going to be reminded of how important he is to us.

This is the one. But I wouldn't mind Dowling and Draper instead of Dowling and Edwards. We've invested high capital into Draper and it's a great opportunity at home for a run in the big leagues.

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

No doubt Soligo is struggling. Our fixture opens up and it's the perfect time to get these guys playing some better footy together to work into some form. Rankine needs it, Dawson needs it and Soligo needs it too. We have 4 "passengers" we can make changes with this week before Soligo even...

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

A problem sure, but not anymore of a problem than it was last year. And Dowling/Edwards absolutely are not a solution to that problem, if you think they are, you rate the SANFL too highly. If they comes in (let's be clear, I do want them to play just not at the expense of Soligo), they come in...

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

This is where it gets back to my original point though. It's hard to drop him when there are players in this side who are just as much if not more of a passenger. Outside of the obvious Jones, ROB, Pedlar from the weekend. What does Bond even do? The imaginary role this fanbase has given him of...

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

What does playing in the SANFL actually do for him though? Any fitness he can "build" in the SANFL he can also build in the AFL. So this is really a question of if you think his lesser impact has been a major detriment to this side so far this year. I don't think it has been at all. There are so...

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

Jones and ROB are easy to focus on, as is Pedlar. I'll admit I jumped the gun on the Tex call but I'm seeing a lot of Soligo and Keays selection calls and I just don't quite understand the logic behind them. Everyone can see they aren't in the best form but the form they are in is still better...

    Preview R5: Changes vs. Carlton

He was very good in rounds 1 and 2 so saying he had another shocking game is a bit of a stretch. I will admit I misjudge the Tex comments though.
