Seems he was playing as a forward the year before we drafted him. Not doubting that he probably played defender at some point throughout his footballing career, but you can't say we didn't draft him as a forward.
Since when? Bar perhaps the odd quarter, Taberner has played his whole career at the club as a forward. Considering he's just starting to get the hang of that I doubt it's wise to throw him into a completely new position. If I had to choose between Dawson and Tabs as key defender I'd be choosing...
The good teams certainly have alot more players who are capable of running through the middle. Could see Deluca playing a role similar to Dunkely/Dahlhaus at the Dogs as someone who can drift seamlessly between the midfield and forward line.
Would you say the more success Deluca has with these run with roles, the less chance someone like DeBoer or Barlow have of staying at the club, considering that's been their role at times in the senior team?
He only played one game this season and overall has played 18 over 4 years. Considering GWS's need for picks as well as the fact that they still need to trim their list a little (I think), means that they can't exactly hold us to ransom. I'm certainly no expert, but i'd say a pick in the range...
Know we're probably set on getting McCarthy, so it's perhaps a bit of a null point, but what does everyone think about trying to get James Stewart from GWS? At 22, 196cm and 93kg, he'll definitely be looking for opportunities elsewhere and he's definitely in an attractive age range for us. He's...
If Langdon does want to leave, which may or may not be the case, what are your thoughts on trading him to Collingwood for Witts? Bringing a player like Witts in would give us the freedom to get rid of Clarke and/or Hannath and give us a ready to play ruckman who would fit the age bracket between...
I remember when he was recruited it said a bit in his bio about being able to swing forward, I remember thinking at the end of last season that he was a player that could perhaps try a shift forward and it's nice to see the coaches trying it out. At 196cm and 95kg he's the right size for a KPP...
Get Casboult relatively cheap this year and then get McCarthy next season where he's had another year in the system and we don't have to ask as much for him. After that we'd have two key forwards + Apeness and Taberner to play with once Pav retires and we'll get to keep a couple more high picks...
Ok, at 189cm he's perhaps a little taller then expected, but he's never been the type of player that plays a particularly tall game. He's been more of an opportunistic goal scorer then anything else.
In what universe would Stevie J be getting their best defender. He's a small-medium sized player who runs through the midfield. No one's going to be putting a Rance, Talia or Lake type on him.
If Ross was all about reward for effort, then I doubt we would have seen Suban play every game this season and Clarke playing for us this week. If we have a player available who's better then someone currently in the 22 then it's a no brainer. Would we be having this conversation if it was Fyfe...
I agree with your points and that's certainly my main argument against playing him, but you have to remember he's only coming into play a tagging role. I doubt tagging requires as much match practice as it's pretty much just following one player the whole game. Crowley's an experienced player...
Missing Ballantyne as well, we were also up by 4 goals at qtr time. In the end you won by 11pts, but I wouldn't say it was comfortable. Credit to the Kangas for taking their chances, but it felt like Dockers lost the match more then North winning it. The fact that we had 9 more inside 50s and 13...
