I get the debate around Smiths possession effectiveness but some of those metres gained would have been handy when underseige in the last quarter.

Autopsy AFL 2026 Round 3 - Saints v Lions Sat March 28th 12:35pm AEDT (Marvel)

AFL has made it pretty clear they will stop play for serious injuries in plays. I guess the guy manning the mark being knocked out qualifies. Nonetheless, the AFL is going the total incompetence route in this game to divert from any bias conversation.

Analysis 2026 umpiring in games involving 1 Victorian team vs. 1 Non Victorian team

Based on the Lions Saints game, the AFLs answer to unconscious bias is to respond with unambiguous incompetence.

The thing is statistics only work if it proves your point of view. More practically just rewatch the HTB decisions for and against in Crows games so far this year. The differences in interpretation are telling.

Then on the other side of the coin compare the AFL’s industry wide response to things like Tippetgate, Rankine and Walkers slur, camps. The Crows have one role, maintain AFL interest at current levels in SA. Unless half a million non AFL fans migrate to Adelaide the AFL doesnt give a rats toss...

Lack of any ruthlessness. We are the AFLs vanila ice cream. An important, unspectacular ingredient but never the chocolate sauce.

Bad. Are we leading the league in least play on handball receives? There is zero set piece ball movement run on. That's coaching.

Game Day Geelong vs Adelaide, Thursday night at the Cattery

Same old same old. Nicks let's another opposition mid rack em up. Play from behind, fight to the lead, go into full defensive shell. Umpires. Couldn't anyone in the box see McAndrews was shot in the last quarter? After we took the lead Geelong controlled field position because we were not...

That GWS goal then was like St Kida channeled their inner Nicks. Chip, chip ,chip.....chip, chip, turnover, goal the other way.

No honorable loss here. Once again coaching not to lose. Did the Bulldogs kick one quality goal other than the last 2?
