    Captain wanting desperately to get out. Assume he’s rightly stripped of the captaincy. Couldn’t imagine the relationship with the coach would be great. All guesswork, but I’d be betting on it lingering for a long time.

    Sorry, I should have specified that I meant at Essendon. It's one thing to miss out on a player, but I imagine it would be quite toxic for Merrett next year.
