    2013 All Australian Team Announcement

I thought Hodge had a better year than Mackie. And I think that consitency as a concept is mis-used and over-rated. Because the better you are, the harder it is to be consistent.

    2013 All Australian Team Announcement

Wingard received votes from the coaches in 12 games. Off the top of my head McVeigh and Griffen polled in 14 games, Selwood and Ablett in 13 and Fyfe, Wingard, Pendlebury, Swan, Jack and Roughead in 12 games. That puts him in some pretty good company. Mitchell played most of the year on a...

Interesting list, Ron. Well done. Interesting to see only one key defender on the list. And he still hasn't made an all australian team. Do you know who the next highest votegetting key defender is after Josh Gibson?

If that was true, the coaches wouldn't keep giving him votes. Coaches are too smart to give votes to players that get beaten one on one or only play well when they don't have an opponent.

LOL. You don't watch much football. The coaches do. They rate him and what he does. You don't.

Posted this earlier but Josh Gibson is the leading 'tall' backman in the coaches votes: Gibson and Taylor are well clear of the rest of the field in both total votes and number of games in which they received votes. Based on this they should take the two key defensive spots. (Not including...

    2013 All Australian Team

Just looking through the Coaches Association Player of the Year voting and thinking everyone is forgetting the best performing tall defender in the competition. "Tall" backmen Josh Gibson 41 votes (polled in 8 games) Harry Taylor 39 votes (polled in 6 games) Andrew Walker 30 votes (polled in 6...
