On that 100 point loss, it's worth remembering that Freo rested about 10-12 of our best players for that game. No team has the depth to cover that and we obviously lost by plenty.
Remember at the time having no concerns we'd beat Hawthorn in the qualifying final.
I can see that argument but now we've got Bolton and Jackson as former premiership players and a strong core of leaders we don't really want to be trading heaps for a player we could've got for a throwaway pick.
Kind of agree with this tbh.
Only reason would be depth, which IMO if JOM retires, NOD is traded etc we'll need. Issue for us would Allan is unlikely to come unless he's best 23 which at this stage is no guarantee.
Think Trent Rivers is a big chance a a free agent next year though. He's...
I think the issue with the first two is they wont be overly realistic.
So much so that we might be better off focusing on more realistic options like the third name mentioned. If we only chase Allan later he might just re-sign and we're looking at another Bolton situation in a few years...
Genuinely think a third rounder next year is worth about the same as pick 99 this year tbh.
I mean technically it's a higher selection but a third rounder is probably looking at the 70th odd best youngster at best once all Tasmania’s extra picks are added in and players taken out through other...
A 2027 second rounder is basically junk. I could live with it but 2027 third rounder is probably the right price given the circumstances.
Can't see us trading 2026 picks unless we have a few depth players leave us and we want to try trade in replacements.
Jeez looking at that I almost need to ask when the last time and interim coach led their team to finals.
With wildcard round existing now it isn’t at all impossible.
If Scerri was a more experienced player he'd go straight into whipping boy category tbh.
I like him because he has a few nice attributes but his contributions to the tean so far have been quite minimal.
Another example of double standards on this board.
This is exactly the sort of comment that just make me think anything a poster says about a certain player can't be taken seriously.
If you've never seen McVee hit a target you haven't been watching our games.
I know you're exaggerating what you think is the reality but to me this just screams...
Feel like players we've traded in for second rounders have become whipping boys on this board.
Jordan Clark and Brad Hill about the only exceptions - It helps when you're in our top 7-8 players.
Realistically players like Lobb, Wilson, Aish, O'Meara and now McVee were solid best 22 players...
Was at the Carlton game on Saturday (was in Melbourne so decided to check out t he top Saturday games and our game on Sunday).
It was a bloody awful game of footy tbh but Cripps was BOG by a long long way. Still has it but he's probably a one position player which makes it more difficult to fit...
Yep. I posted that before the injury report came out expecting Wagner to be unavailable.
I certainly don't think the replacements were good enough on Sunday for Wagner not to come straight back in.
Let's face it - Even in our current situation if JL was happy with everything and/or was not trying to improve the team he should be sacked.
I'd rather have someone who sees the good and the bad. Let's be honest that's pretty much every coach ever.
We've got more games left than we've played...
