Even the on air personnel don't know what's on between 5 and 6 in the afternoons.
Heard an ad this morning on Fireball, of Sam Edmund saying "join us on Sportsday, tonight from 6". I thought this might have cleared up the confusion around it..... aaaaaand they're on at 5. Absolute amateur hour.
I still haven't got my head across scheduling on the 5-6 pm slot (Melbourne time). Some days Korn and Edmund come on, other days I tune in expecting them and find Andy and Andy still going. I drive home and jump out of the car a bit quicker if it's the latter.
Maybe it's my sort of humour but I personally like the mix of Fireball being very loose in the first hour for people that like to wake up to a bit of banter while getting ready for work, and then being a bit more serious for the commute. I do like that the nature of Fireball is to not sit on the...
Dwayne checking his own stats simply doesn't measure up. 500+ texts a day and "I read them all". Either that's too many ads/spare time or old mate is full of it. Probably a fair mix of both.
Most of the people I know (mostly footy lovers) listen to SEN or Triple M, or any footy content really. Could be a blue collar or middle-aged male thing, we'd rather listen to footy talk than politics and constant bad news (3AW etc), so I genuinely don't know how ratings are worked out.
Only...
I think throwing it open to callers and texters as a vox-pop thing is lost a bit when they go to the same people all the time and turn them into regulars.
I thought talkback radio was supposed to be about spontaneity and the provocative discourse it creates, not about taking the same calls every...
I dunno if the content can be changed too much if you throw it open to calls and 99% of callers want to talk footy. And a fair few of them are not the full quid, either not carrying the full set of golf clubs, or the smarter ones that just like the sound of their own voice a bit too much.
I love that song. The quiet, subtle guitar noodling in the background. Funnily enough with subtle guitar, the louder you turn it up the better it sounds. And Bryan Ferry is one of my favourite singers/front men of all time (and that's coming from a very traditional metal guy).
I realise opinions on Ox will be split (actually no, he's generally a goose)- but my take was on the usually fence-sitting Edmund reading out that text, especially given Ox's well publicised gambling issues.
David Schwarz did his usual wayward "take it to the bank" this morning, and Sam Edmund read out a text afterwards saying "no wonder Ox lost all his money" or something to that effect.
Edmund is one of the more professional operators on SEN, rarely gets it wrong in that regard, but I can't...
