    When sponsorship drys up, maybe the farms don’t pay up as much. How can clubs afford an additional 60k in additional insurances. It’s a one way street already! $3,000 per week for any football is absurd. They’re committing less than 1 working day of face to face time at the club per week.

    When the last time any hub / afl paid employee to look after grass roots football attended regular country football matches on weekend that wasn’t a final or photo op. Mon - Fri 9 to 5pm. It’s laughable the avoidance to get in the trenches and see what’s really going on! I’m not a betting man...

    Clubs can still nominate players to be scouted. The AFL puts money into scouts to travel country side and watch talent. If they’re good enough, recruited to play a vfl game or two at the back end of the season. I’m sure every club would love its best talent to be playing more home and away...
