I'm another neutral who's fully jumped on board the bandwagon and I'm feeling really sad and sorry for you tonight. I've been super impressed by your club and its culture the more I've followed you over the past few years and Nick Haynes would just about be my favourite player in the...
Hi, I hope you don't mind me posting here, but as an opposition supporter I'd just like to say that you have a lovely group of players! We live in the Tweed Shire and popped down to Byron on Sunday for the open training session. The players were all in good spirits and very friendly and...
Hope you don't mind me intruding, but he was elevated to the Hawthorn leadership in 2012 <http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/franklin-to-join-hawk-leaders-20120128-1qnbu.html>.
Also didn't his brother not quite make it at Carlton after being on their list for a while? He's also got additional responsibilities to other young players - a partner and two little kids to support.
He played when Goodes was absent, even though clearly not fully fit, to show his support.
The most plausible explanation I have heard for his absence from the finals is that he was/is unwell. In this context his decision to not attend the B&F makes sense and is not evidence that he's a jerk...
Very interesting post, but I don't know that we're being lied to here. Personally, I can imagine how things could have come to a head for Buddy after he played the game against the Suns where he struggled, physically, in the aftermath of an epileptic fit and in the context of back/rib injuries...
He's good friends with Ruby Rose and she went over to the States a year or so ago for mental health treatment. Just physically getting away from Australia could be good for him (and others who are in the public eye). I really hope he gets better - very sad.
I hope you don't mind the intrusion, but just wanted to say that hopefully with the definitive `no' given by Longmire, the media will move on a bit this week to the next `big story' and will stop camping outside Buddy's house etc. (deplorable). The will-he-play-or-won't-he conjecture that would...
Great for us and agree that there wasn't the deception of the Buddy defection, however my husband and kids are Melbourne supporters and are pretty peeved that they're losing Frawley and Clark.
For every person who cites Goodes' style of play as the basis for booing, there's another who mentions his 'pontificating' on issues (particularly racism), as the Australian of the Year. There seems to be genuine dislike for him as a Footballer, which is fine, but with some supporters it appears...
It's ironic that in multicultural round, where the message is 'one game, many cultures' that tonight's episode highlighted how much the old homogenous approach still prevails.
I get your point but in this instance I really don't think umpiring was a factor at all - Port could point to Hodgey's hold on Wingard in 1 st quarter, in the goal square, that wasn't paid. Am looking forward to taking them on in the finals with a number of our best-22 back from injury.
