The whole ticket prices have gone f*cking bonkers. 10-15 years ago was a tournament for fans. In 5 years its not going to be who's in the rolex marquee, but paying for a week 1 ticket with one.
The land tax updates, as well as favourablel land i.e flat land availability has actually seen prices stagnate for the best. Its apocolyptic in Sydney and is trending that way in Qld and adelaide (lol).
Madness to think property increasing at 7-10% per year is a good thing for society.
I firmly believe the HS, 3aw etc are trying harder than ever to try and get the libs across the line here, as they know their influence is getting less election on election and another loss might genuinely spell curtains for any level of influence as well as the libs in vic.
Until Wilson can prove she can effectively speak when on the spot (saw her interview on 9 news over the weekend, was a trainwreck for pre-recorded) this screams Dutton 2.0 of not seeming personable at all.
Wilson has a monumental task to form government, but also a bigger challenge to hold terms. Vics have become used to seeing shiny new projects which have led to this debt. Feel like the good economic manager argument will run thin if voters continue to sit in traffic, pt system breaks down etc...
Wilson getting an armchair ride by the media at the moment which is to be expected given it appears getting around a female liberal leader might be the last hope libs have here. She seems to have held her own so far, interesting to see how she/ party goes when she announces a policy platform...
Got time for KIF. Seems like they've come across to give it a genuine crack here, use the podcast set up and see if it can get up before going back to Perth.
Wouldnt think any of the producers would be full time and would be on minimum chips. There is very little money in the game.
I dont know who is really seeing the polling as tight, recent trends seem to have labor clearly in front, bookies have labor shortening by the week.
The thing i dont understand is the libs get their felgates, elliot, herald sun to drum up the crime issues, potholes etc, but then are so bad at...
Barrett's rant re the postcard last week was the final straw. Im done with this podcast. Been insuffurable for a bit, but kinda funny when Hutchy picks up on it and takes him for a ride, but seriously i could see him as now the most negative man in the world. Hopefully he gets chopped off media...
When was the last time the libs at state or even federally trotted out a new/ fresh young (under 40) candidate who didnt just seem like a privilidged snob. It still has me baffled how the libs could lose this.
Does anyone believe the net zero approach helps the libs or nats get anywhere other than oblivion? Seems to be supported by vast majoriy <40, particularly young voters. Centrist conservatives will go furher to the teals/ independents.
I dont see how the libs get close to seats in metro areas...
Got a run on the scandals board and on DDF, but the whole Dyl and Dan situation (Dyl supposedly shafting Dan) just leaves me a bit sad. also find it weird Dyl never responded/ has as it just reinforces the vibe that he can be a shit bloke, even if he doesnt 100% mean it
Honestly this has me seeing a similar situation to the Vics after the 2014 election, where they havent come close since, will no doubt have a chance to walk it in again (2026 election) yet still lose.
They're almost stuck in as bad of an echochamber as the Greens seemed to be in the late 10's...
Libs had their best shot with Pesutto before s*it hit the fan.
The HUN, 3AW, Sky have done nothing more than raise/ ignite generations of whingers.
Theres a lot the state could be doing better on health, education etc, but theres no clear roadmap from the libs on how they make this place...
