    That would be the key. If the umpire had signalled time, then you'd think a player kicking the ball away in celebration would not incur a time-wasting penalty, as the game had finished. If it was kicked away before the umpire had called time, then you'd think a penalty would be the decision.

    EP got a free kick in the centre of the ground. As they were awarded the free kick the siren went, so a Souths player, thinking they'd won the GF, kicked the ball away in celebration.
