    Kelly came 2nd in the Melbourne coaching race last year. Media reported he "blew them away' in the interview and the choice between King and Kelly was exceptionally difficult. I think that's where the narrative comes from.

    184 pts is equivalant to pick 43 in last years draft points. That wouldnt worry Port at all, even with the 2027 academy players on the radar. Moot point anyway as Port will have more than enough points after Butters is traded.

    Worth noting with Hickmott is that he has coached across every position group during his assistant career. Started as a Backline coach at WCE then moved into midfield and now working with the forwards at Hawthorn. EDIT: Was also a development coach with * before WCE.

    Every club does match sim at least once a week in the last 6 or so weeks of the pre-season. We aren't the only ones. Worth noting match sim isn't 4 x 30min quarters.
