List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

Totally agree on the injured players. I posted about being a bit uncomfortable with the Owies decision, based purely on his contribution. Overall, I'm glad the club has been a lot more proactive & moved on players for various reasons. 5 years ago they would have sat on their hands & just hoped...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management 📃

I'm hoping that a refresh via Inness will help us have a normal or light injury toll to manage next year. If that's the case, we should have more competition for spots than we have had for years, forcing everyone to go up a level. I just hope Voss & the MC play their part & give opportunities...

Rumour Bluemour Discussion XXXVI - 'Loopy' Season in full swing

The whole Owies thing doesn't sit well with me. I understand that he is the guy out of contract & there are too many small forwards etc etc. I actually like him as a player, limited as he is, but my issue is with the logic behind it. Carlton has been the club of hope & potential for way too...

Soapy V you previously mentioned the Campo twins as being viewed positively internally. Can you expand on that at all? My personal opinion is that they will both surprise a few people next year & will play at a level higher than expected.

Playing QAFL. I actually shook his hand on Sunday at a club junior presentation day. He's a pretty impressive specimen.

Rumour Bluemour Discussion XXXV - 'Loopy' Season has begun

I agree with the philosophy but who'd want to be an under 21 player at Carlton? A) There's a core group of players who get picked in the AFL side regardless of form or fitness. Young guys are held in the VFL way too long. B) Even when they do get a chance, they get dropped after a game or...

Coach Michael Voss - Stats, history, articles, videos

Yeah, probably true. He has ticked a few boxes for me though. He seems hungry, humble & genuinely excited to have the job. The fact that he has the guts to say that pre-season will be tough & that everyone will need to lift on his first day is also a good sign. I'm happy for him to set high...

Coach Michael Voss - Stats, history, articles, videos

This saved me some typing. Fully agree. I was slow to fully take to Voss being appointed but he has convinced me with his interviews. Hoping we'll see him speak freely and be true to himself.

That's not what I was getting at. Your other points are obvious but what I was asking was about high-quality talent where having Voss as a coach would make them choose Carlton over another team.

This is a genuine question & part of my lukewarm reaction to Voss. Is there any evidence anywhere to suggest that either highly regarded assistant coaches or talented players would actively try to get to Carlton now to be under Voss? That is my main reservation.

Not massively excited or massively disappointed. Good luck to Vossy. As a member, I hope he succeeds & we play finals next year. Maybe some new line coaches & players will raise the excitement level. Maybe he is the exact sort of coach we need. WFK I still think with Sayers & Cook we are in a...

Simon Black is pretty active up here in Brisbane with the Simon Black academy. He does a lot of hands-on coaching and mentoring/speaking.
