I assure you that Collingwood would take it to court if the AFL approved something that they didn't like. Collingwood has refrained from court action to this point because they have been involved in all previous discussions about us wearing the bars and they have not had any need to do so. But...
I agree that a complete bastartisation of the bars would not be good. Like the horrible option where the black bars becomes teal. But it is a fine line and doesn't have to be a drastic change.
Personally, I would rather see the bars worn permanently in a slightly altered form than not at all...
The issue is that as it stands now, we can't even wear it for any occasion.
All they are doing now is asking to wear it once in R23 this year, which seems completely pointless to me.
Even if the AFL grants the R23 request, the issue is going to come up again next year. The risk is that as the...
The problem is that after 25 years we are still stuck in the same position of repeatedly begging to wear it and it is getting us nowhere.
My opinion is that we should push to wear the black & white prison bars for heritage rounds, whether they are AFL sanctioned heritage rounds or just against...
Sheedy also said this publicly on a club video couple of years ago.

David Parkin too...
On face value that is true, but without the discounted $30 adult tickets and kids free it would have been a much smaller crowd. The club probably knew it was looking bad which is why they ran the flash sale on Friday afternoon.
In percentage terms, Westhoff's 2020 stats were at least 30% better than Marshall's in a number of key areas (disposals, marks, hitouts, contested possessions, uncontested possessions, effective disposals, contested marks, clearances, one percenters, stoppage clearances, intercepts). Yes...
I posted this in the Westhoff thread but needs to be said here. I wonder how Westhoff really feels at the moment. If I was in his position, I would be seething and devastated to be treated like this by the club after so many years of service and invaluable experience that likely could have...
Why? Russell Ebert was sacked in 1987 after 5 years as coach, making the finals 3 times including a losing GF (much better record than Ken). Supporters were outraged and there was a public protest. However Jack came in and went on to coach the club to 3 premierships in a row and 7...
Disagree. While Ken may be good at connecting with the players, that quality alone doesn't make him a good coach. Cahill was a master at instilling belief in his players and had them playing for him, but the difference is he was also a great coach. Although the players seem to like Ken...
