Bombers might need to get James Hird back there with some pep pills.

Yes, we lost three games we should have won, and just got home against GWS. That was with players in that are out now. Those winnable games were really the games which would indicate that we are on the road to improving, but it didn't happen. Lyon's style is now under scrutiny as it is failing...

Looking bottom 4 for us in reality. We are unsettled and unbalanced as a playing unit and have injury woes, not to mention a game style that will not see us trouble many teams above us. It is vital that we start to put games into the likes of Boxshall, Hastie and one or two others, as this...

My Geelong mob tell me that Wilson and Hastie have been on their wishlist, and the return of Boris as well

I noticed Garcia in the last couple of games, seemed to be doing a lot of chasing and not getting close enough to the ball. I think there's more work to do with his defensive game off the ball- though probably has a few mates there.

Yeah, I remember all the talk back then, or even earlier, of premiership windows, give it time, we're competitive...but in the end the coach and list just didn't work. Seeing the same now.. some are seriously over-rating a few youngsters on our list.

That's why you have a coach- to fix errors.

The only thing we're not good at is winning- 4 points is all that counts. All the promise, potential and getting close for a two or three quarters mean nothing in the record books at the end of a season. Even with fewer injuries we still couldn't win the winnable earlier in the season.

We also had playing, Macrae, Wood, Marshall, Wilke, TDK, Silvagni, Sharman, Sinclair, Henry, Wilson, Pou, Windy, Caminiti, Hill - all with senior game experience. What we expected was at least a competitive effort, not the weak capitulation we saw. At least Byrnes turned up at the first bounce.

Could be that Paddy Dow comes in for Flanders- is experienced, plays a similar game. We really need to get Boxshall and Hastie in the seniors for a block of games now the season is ro@ted

Flanders was coming along nicely, but injury has cost us -again

I seem to have heard similar in the '70s and '80s and so on.

I reckon the VFL side could have kicked at least one goal before half time against the Hawks the other night

I've been going to Saints games since 1969, and gone though all the crap in the '70s and '80s where we were total sh#t, but that effort against the Hawks was probably the worse I have seen, even worse than the time Collingwood flogged us by 30 goals back in the '70s, and that was humiliating...

St Kilda Coaching 2025 and beyond

In the current pro sport environment, any coach who presented team that did not kick a goal until the third quarter of a game, should probably be shown the door- especially a coach who admitted that his coaching contributed to this. In business, a manager who after four years who failed to...
