“Injury concerns” is an excuse, I don’t really buy it. Merrett is wanting out due to the direction of the club. If this many key senior players (and I expect there may be more) are out the door, the coach should go too. -

Doubt the Hawks will be top 4 next year if Sam Mitchell departs. If i was O'Meara id be going to the Dogs or Adelaide if he wants an immediate shot at a premiership. Hawks are a well run club yes, but they won't be contending again for a while -
