Preview Round 5 vs Essendon @ Adelaide Oval – Saturday April 11 2026, 1:15 pm AEST

Just start well ffs. If we put in another Freo or Blues first quarter we may, and probably deserve to, lose.

Yeah, given WBD couldn't even fully smash the dons it would be pretty impressive if we just controlled this game for 4 quarters more or less. We also need a % boost.

Player Watch #18: Jake Melksham – the Melkman lives on for 2026 (250th this week)

Does anyone remember that cursed half back version of Melk we had for half a season or so early on? Terrible

Review Dees v the Suns and no Trac: the Good, the Bad and the Fugly

Was waiting for the GC mids to turn up and even up clearance in the 2nd half and make a game of it but it just never happened. Our pressure and intent was just way too good - watching replay could really see the tackling that Windsor, Steele and Sparrow did. Then Kozzy just too quick and clean...

Player Watch #22 Blake Howes - extended to 2027

Got me thinking about our half backs now - keen to see Bowey kicking off our half back line now with this gameplan when he gets fit again. Loving seeing McVee struggle over in Freo. Sucked in.

Yeah I'm actually loving Langford being generally more quiet but still finding ways to impact. 2 goals last week, 2 this week including some lovely grabs. Love the flexibility in this current team

Player Watch #22 Blake Howes - extended to 2027

At the season launch one of the development coaches said Howes and Windsor would have breakout years. He's definitely playing with way more confidence than previous years. Kind of playing like early McVee by winning 1 on 1s and being super clean and composed with the footy.

Latrelle's kicks inside 50 this year have pretty much all been spot on

    Player Watch #36: Kozzy Pickett – 2025 All-Australian

Bailey Humphrey would actually be a perfect get for our midfield. Him swapping with Koz between centre bounce and deep forward is mouth watering.

Coach Steven 'sKing' King – Melbourne Senior Coach (plus wider coaching panel discussion)

I think giving the team a credible system to move the ball instead of contest defence lobotomies and then pretending we all loved each other is probably helping

Kozzy and Latrelle quite obviously kicking it to each other all the time

How could I forget Melky coming back in and kicking 4 snags. Hanger was so pure. (he nearly took another few hangers earlier too - was LAUNCHING at the footy)
