    Pagan: Roos lacking talent

DP is a great NM man. Just an isolated but relevant example, during 1992 we were collared by the Footscray. I think it was Libba or Wallis at the time made the comment, that "we know NM is a skilled team (ie: Larkin, German, etc), but if you pressure them hard you know you will beat them" ...

Top 5 Swingmen in VFL/AFL history?

Mark 'The Fridge' Roberts - perhaps even more so before Pagan took over...when North was stagnating in the Schimma years, The Fridge literally turned games from multiple positions; The Ruck, Full Forward, Wing and even Full Back...a classic utility, who was one of the most unlikely looking but...

Which team's midfield are you scared of in years to come?

For different reasons - the MF's of both Richmond & Sydney will be very good to watch in the coming years. R'mond because the top 3 could really be elite...and Sydney due to their MF depth & hardness (although, they really need to overcome the MCG hoodoo). Plenty of others have merit, but...

    See ya Scotty

Good insight - he was seriously pi**ed about it ... Every P/ship coach has had some turbulence during their career...I'm not a Scott apologist, but there is something about him that I believe in.

MVP The OFFICIAL Rd 6 Votes V Eagles thread

    3. Swallow - all heart 2. Cunnington - although not accumulating high possessions, he is now winning important 1-1 contests 1. Coin toss = Bastinac - good game on Kerr (butchered a couple of kicks, but is getting better at also finding space) Notable mention: S Thomson...right pace at right...

    Lindsay Thomas on Gary Rohan

Aside from the (emotional driven) NM v Swans comments, the consensus seems to be about 90% in seeing it as an unfortunate (and major at that for Garry Rohan) outcome to a contest that could / does happen in the general course of play. Its instinctive to try and win the ball first, and...

    Questions from Bon's presser

Agree - I hope it was a little bit more raw behind closed doors, because the only Stat that really matters, is called the scoreboard. The Swans are accused of playing an unattractive style, but they win this Stat very frequently at home. It wasn't just the weather we didn't adapt to - which...

Read this - I would have Rohan Connolly's ****ing babies.

And this is not just recent by RC -back in 96, after the proposed merger with Fitzroy was sabotaged at the 11th hour, he was the one journalist who, when everybody was lauding Brisbane for their 'foresight', and that arrogant clown president of theirs at the time was grandstanding, RC publicly...

Two very exciting (and young) midfields - choose one

...and in that 16 years NM have won 2 P/Ships to Sydney 1 - its irrelevant. The OP asked a very valid Q - who at the moment do people believe has the better midfield (not during the past 16 years)...and putting club bias aside, I believe until Sunday, its difficult to argue that Sydney is not...

    Cunnington's play on the flank

He reminds me of a young Brett Kirk - it took Kirk sometime to make it, but there were few better on-field leaders when he finally did. BC has grit and determination in spades, and there is definite football ability. He's just not a pure athlete, but is a footballer.

Two very exciting (and young) midfields - choose one

As at today, Swans are probably slightly ahead and more proven (eg; last year they were finalists). As of 6pm Sunday, we will know more. Anything more is just conjecture.

News Nathan Buckley Press Conference 10am tomorrow (Tuesday)

As a non C'Wood person, I have to admit I like the way he operates...he was very good when commentating, and had football smarts as a player. I believe he will make an excellent long term coach.

Changing the club song to include Hearts to Hearts

That's an outstanding idea - imagine the atmosphere that would create pre & post match...and would help draw additional crowd numbers. I would really applaud marketing / admin if they followed through on this idea.

    Uh oh!!!!

After watching the media conference, I fully endorse what he said. He did not go overboard in any of his comments - he acknowledged how good Geelong were, and said at some stage we need to prove ourselves. If those comments make any difference to what the result would have been without them -...

Should we be concerened Vs GWS

Result aside - and lets be honest, if we don't win well, there a greater issues to address than this single game. Given GWS playing list, it's time Cunnington, Bastinac stand up - I rate them, but against this team there is no excuse not to be effective. I have (hopefully unfounded) concerns...
