Oh gee not another coaching succession plan, don't they work well!

Soccer is a serious threat to the game. I am a recently retired primary school teacher and for the last 18 years of my career I taught in Melbourne's outer fringe. When I started at this particular school it was AFL central, by far the most popular sport in town. Footballs were everyone on the...

    Player Watch #29: Will Phillips

He's been a bit of a disappointment that's for sure but I really hope he plays this week and is given a proper run of games. Whether it's confidence or he hasn't got the tank I don't know. He really hasn't had a decent run at it. If we label him a bust now without a good six to 10 weeks we'll...

Coach Alastair Clarkson - NMFC Senior Coach - Coaching & Football Discussion

After watching that it does sound like we are just at the start of yet another rebuild, which is a bitter pill to swallow but we have no choice really. Surely two men involved in multiple premierships might know a little more than any of us here. If we are indeed at the start, the way forward...

Preview 2024 Mid Season Draft Prospects & Discussion

Traded by GWS and delisted by Essendon, sounds about cherry ripe for us to pick him up 👍

He's not the player he was as recently as the Grand Final but I would play him in a heartbeat, the onfield leadership he'd give to LDU, George etc would be invaluable.

Give me a cooked Pendlebury in the back half instead of Luke McDonald everyday of the week please. 👍

    Strategy The actual positive thread

The footy club needs to go all out and bring a fair dinkum on field role model to the club next year. Pay whatever it costs to bring a Pendlebury or Callan Ward type to be an on-field general and coach for a couple of years. The leaders we have don't know how to lead so we need to find someone...

That was a good listen, Carey spoke a lot of sense. In recent years I thought he was a first class knob, but you can hear the passion for North is still there. As a Dad he is concerned for his kids as North supporters, as a dad myself I get that. Our junior supporters are so important and there...

He had a few 20 plus possession games last year but seems to have gone backwards. Maybe it's misguided, but I am still hopeful that he may become the ball pig we are in need of.

Player Watch #5: Curtis Taylor - re-signed until the end of 2024

He looked like a really good prospect early on, a good marking option inside 50m and could go back and kick a goal. Should have persisted with him there, he has become very vanilla since then.

Preview Changes vs Saints May 4th 4:35 at Docklands

Yep playing out of position. We saw how much he runs and links up for us the past two seasons, but for some reason he has been turned into a defender losing confidence with each game. Bewildering really.

    Bye bye Clarkson

I think Cunners is a huge loss for us. Sad that his illness robbed the team of a year or two of his on-field leadership. Having had two bouts of cancer myself I know how taxing the treatment and recovery is. Hope he is doing well now, what a star he was in his own understated way. Miss him heaps.

Still just a boy's body lets hope he isn't allergic to the weights room like some of his team mates.

    Bye Bye Jen Watts

Ponting would be fantastic, just what we need another part time administrator like Buckley. He can fly into town on game day straight after his duties as coach of the Delhi Capitals.
