People can see the signs on the bench, and look at their phones if they really want to. If we changed it to a count-down clock, people would want to see the amount of time the quarter has taken.
It sounds like a great weekend, but for WA people it’s as inaccessible as getting to a Grand Final, which is my main complaint. It would be good if it was rotated to give everyone the opportunity to go. Feels like it’s gather round except if you’re from WA, then, oh well, sucks to be you.
So my opinion has changed over the years. During the 2000s West Coast were my most disliked team ( I can't say hate, as my mum supports them ) - mostly because I have to deal with their supporters who are annoying here in WA.
More recently it's been Hawthorn because they beat Freo consistently...
I think a lot of people are assuming Fyfe will be sub, but maybe they start him on the ground given that we have Wags, Switta out and Johnson still not 100% from his ankle injury. Noddy and Simpson in - Simpson as the sub.
Some options:
1. NOD and Johnno -> rotate midfielders such as Young, Serong, O'Meara forward as the 7th forward when needed.
2. Banners forward, bring in Aish/Walker/Simpson for Switta but play in the back line, with NOD or Johnno for Wagner.
3. Dudley for Switta, NOD or Johnno for Wagner...
$750k extra in the soft-cap for next season, and I believe $350k after that - and a 20% discount on a senior assistant, so there is some money around to add in extra support - definitely we should take advantage of that.
JLo (and the coaching group) have improved each year as a coach in my view, maturing along with the players. Will see how they go as a collective group in the finals.
Fyfe isn't going to be dropped for the first final. JLo pretty much indicated as much in his press conference. Whether he deserves his spot is a different question.
I personally hope he stays in and has an impact in a big win. Basically I think O'Driscoll in for WAGs is the most likely, though...
Adelaide - will struggle without Rankine, but if they win at home against Collingwood, and then have the Prelim Final at home, then could easily make it to the GF, so then who knows.
Geelong - definite chance to win - important for them to win first week against Brisbane, but could still do it...
So Wags - depending on how bad it is - could be out for 3-4 weeks or more, likely to not be back for finals.
Would like to think O'Driscoll comes straight back in. He played well at Peel yesterday.
What a game ! Absolutely loved that 2nd quarter.
The commentary was fine, typically they want a close and exciting game. So when Freo was up and about in the 2nd quarter they were definitely up and about for Freo. When Bulldogs had a chance in the last, they were behind them to get the game to...
If we have Banners as our whipping boy, then we're doing ok, I think he is playing his role well and has adapted to being in the backline after probably not training there all pre-season.
