    How would a game in Adelaide or anywhere else, say on the Sunday, have any impact of the Sydney market? Opening round works because thousands of fans from Victoria travel up for the first game. A game in SA makes no difference to how many fans would travel to NSW/Qld.

    Poor turnout at Homebush despite plenty of Hawks fans. One upper stands not open. Other upper stands half full. Lower levels ok - 2/3s full. 12k there if we are being honest. I predict they will post 15,071.

    If you take out the games V Swans, the Giants ratings are the same as all other games not involving the Swans. The Swans are everything AFL in Sydney.

    It’s ironic that opening round was introduced to promote footy in the northern states, but that the game most likely to sell out (public tickets anyway) is Saints v Pies. Around 1k tickets left for all games execpt GWS v Hawks at least 5k (not all tickets on sale yet).

    McKenzie is a strange one. Quite creative by hand and when forward, but almost every kick in the back half is a bomb without even looking. Turns it over way too much.
