Box Hill will play at City Oval. The old pavilion with the away rooms has been demolished, but they are spitting the home rooms in the new (circa 2005) building in half. The toilets are still there but they will have to set up some temporary food and beverage areas.
This will be ready mid 2027.
9k is a joke. We should have ended our contract at the end of last year, or at least brought the North and Dees games back to Melbourne. It’s going to look horrible on TV.
GWS and GC are yet to make the AFL more profitable either. Neither will Tassie. Doesn’t mean the 17th, 18th, 19th or 20th club isn’t worth it. The AFL thinks long term sometimes. There is no hurry to add a 20th team, but if one stacks up, and grows the game, I am all for it.
So you don’t think your team is better at home than away? Every team in the AFL has a better record at home. Your winning % is 58% at home and 34% away. Massive difference.
No.
They are bringing in that stand quite a bit. They can do the same with the other older stands/sheds one by one down the track. It will add a little to capacity but make the viewing experience much better.
Playing in WA v WA clubs is suicide. Any team doing that is not trying to make finals. I am surprised the AFL allowed it.
You might as well shut up shop now.
