Unofficial Preview 2025 Hawk's Hypothetical Trade Discussion...now with added DFA spitballing!

The ongoing drama and singular focus on Merritt since week one of finals is a fail for me. Losing Worpel also is going to be a bigger loss than many expect. We have very few contested ‘see ball-get ball’ types on our list. We have draft picks so maybe we can pickup some talent that can...

Player Watch Thanks for your service, James Worpel, pick #43 2017 - Peter Crimmins medalist 2019 - joins Geelong Cats 2025

Worpel had his limitations but was still in our best 22 and more than serviceable. Disappointing given our weakness is with our mid-field depth. He’s also only 26 and should play for at least another five years.

Autopsy 1st Semi Final 2025: Hawks send Crows out in straight sets!

I really liked Worpel’s game. He just gets the footy. The Cats are going to tag Jai so we are going to need him to step up and get the ball to our outside players. The opportunity has been created. If we bring the same energy and focus we have a real chance.

Preview Semi Final 2025: Adelaide Crows v Hawthorn. 12 September 2025, 7.40pm @ Adelaide Oval

CJ was OK and had some good moments over the weekend. I wish he would impact the contest more instead of hanging back and applying limited defensive pressure. He still has lots of upside, but as many have stated, for next week, I would drop him for another mid. Not sure who…maybe Mackenzie.

In a side lacking inside midfielders, retaining Worpel should be a high priority. Whilst his ball use is limited, he knows how to get his hands on the footy. At only 26 years old he’s a player we should pay overs to keep.

Preview First Elimination Final (2025): GWS Giants v Hawthorn, 6 September 2025, 3.15pm @ Engie Stadium

Out: Breust, Lewis In: Butler, Weddle I would also consider Morrison in too and CJ out.

News Hawk for life, Luke Breust. Signs to 2025. Kicks 500 goals! Announces retirement at end of 2025 season

When Luke first started I honestly thought he was soft and wasn’t going to make it in a team full of stars. I was so wrong! Clean hands, great disposal, and simply knows how to score. He was immense in the 2014 Grand Final! One of my favorites and an all time Hawk great. Probably the best small...

Autopsy Round 22, 2025: Hawks thump the Pies

Whilst our form has been solid overall in 2025, this feels like our first real convincing win of the season. If we can somehow make Top 4, or avoid Fremantle in week one, we have the talent to do better than last season. We are still one a-grader short in the midfield, which may ultimately be...

News Goodwin Sacked - has taken his big book of LEARNINGS to Sydney

Fair enough decision to part ways and move on in 2026…but surely this could have waited 3 weeks till season’s end. Goodwin must be the first coach to be terminated in season after a fourteen goal victory. He delivered big time for Melbourne and deserved so much better than this. Amateur hour @...

Autopsy Round 20, 2025: Hawks give them the Blues

Underwhelming again…if that’s the best we can muster against a broken Carlton it’s going to be an ugly month ahead!

Autopsy Round 18, 2025: Hawks fall short

Somebody needs to be given an extended opportunity in the midfield to win the contested ball. It’s not Cam Mackenzie nor Dylan Moore...unfortunately we don’t have lots of options. I think Finn is our best bet. Disappointing loss given we could have effectively eliminated Fremantle from finals...

Autopsy Round 17, 2025: Hawks defeat boredom

More defensive pressure required in the forward half…I know he’s no longer the future but Luke Breust is a better option than some of our current smalls. The mid field without Day is currently bottom four. Unless something clicks soon we are either not going to make finals or exit fairly quickly.

    Preview Round 9, 2025: Melbourne v Hawthorn, 10 May 2025, 1:20pm @ MCG

I agree…there’s way more upside to Maginness. He has the physical attributes to become a really powerful midfielder in the coming years. Morrison is serviceable but his ceiling appears more limited.

Coach Men's Senior Coach: Brad Scott

Granted it must not be easy to speak while things aren’t going well, and football is an emotional game, Scott however comes across as irritated and defensive that questions are being asked by the press. As senior coach, it’s his role to answer questions and provide a clear and articulate...

Autopsy Round 2, 2025: Hawthorn give Carlton the Blues

Jack Gunston doing Jack Gunston things…two critical goals. Elite!
