The disappointing part is its gold coast, and getting smashed by them would be a huge moral bruising. If we don't get up and beat collingwood next week, then we're not doing anything this season

Considering we've been awful at goalkicking for about 3-4 years, and we still are, its fair to say whatever they have been doing, it hasn't worked. Celebrating points? Come on, do you honestly think that's a good idea? The club came up with that a month ago, and we've been kicking worse ever since. Fagan needs to try something else.

Wake up and get some perspective, goal kicking is the least of our concerns regarding this performance today.

To be fair we put ourselves in the position we now find ourselves in by dropping points we shouldn’t have against NM & the Dees. Had the Adelaide game in our hands too, until we turned it up at the start of the last quarter and then couldn’t kick straight for 15 minutes at the end.

Notice the St Kildas of the world don’t complain about the blatant rubber-banding of the fixture when they are howling about an equal competition.

Theoretically father-son should reward everyone over time. Fixture manipulation deliberately punishes select clubs and rewards others based on ladder position to artificially close the gap. It's the football equivalent of the blue shell in Mario Kart.

Dividing the ladder up into just 3 tiers of 6 is such a crude and blunt implementation of it too. If they are going to keep doing it, try and weight it with a little bit more nuance.

Oh yeah definitely not saying we haven’t done well in comparison.

I’ve been on record a number of times this year as saying I didn’t think this team could win the flag again (this year) when we didn’t adequately replace Joe last year.

Ive said I rate our chances to go again next year, although I’m starting to reconsider that mainly because some of our key players are starting to slow down (Lachie, Charlie etc). I think though bringing in Allen will help, if he’s fit though of course. I’m hopeful Kiddy gets a full preseason in too.

Back to this year and where we now find ourselves, if we can somehow make the second week of finals I’d call that a pretty good year all things considered.
