Didn’t mind the way young Bart spoke, actions speak louder than words though. Here's the radio interview with the Ararat president and Bart Turgoose from ABC VIC, starts at 2 hours 1 minute. https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/vic-statewide-drive/drive/105742528
Not quite as in depth as the 3WM interview but at least there's a podcast of this.
No, ask Jai Thompson. Took a reprimand in rd 1 rather than take a week & cost him the Dellar Medal. You can’t win the medal if you’ve been reprimanded can’t you?

He polled 27, rosier won on 17Did he poll most votes Monday night?
Holy shit! I didn't follow that league much, but, didn't know he had that good of a season. He polled 27, rosier won on 17

Hosking just denied any wrongdoing by anyone that is affiliated with Ararat. Typical.
No mention of Tom though.
Don't know why there would be mention of Tom. He was reprimanded, end of story! Time to move on and see how he reacts when other players get under his skin!
Just had a listen, what really wasn’t touched on why the league is so secretive in its dissemination of information, decisions around MRO, tribunals, etc. This is the crux of matter. In the absence of an official explanation those who follow clubs form their own version of the truth. There are examples all over the state of how other leagues handle these matters in a transparent way.Didn’t mind the way young Bart spoke, actions speak louder than words though.

hmmm Im from that neck of the woods and would be disappointed with any player sledging another player about family and personal issues! The thunder boys clearly know how much of a hot head Williamson is and from a pretty good source they were pretty good on the lip to him about he’s personal life and how he left the AFL system.
Not something I would do but I have heard a lot worse personal attacks on a footy field.

hello tom Williamsonthis Tom Williamson bashing has to stop. If he is at fault for something reprimand him or further action. But god sakes flip it upside down for a second…he cops Genreal abuse be it insults, family targeted, stalking and harassment targeted calls every week from players coaches umpires and runners ect.. if someone tells you it’s cause they’re just so hurt by his past they’re kidding them self. There isn’t a club with out someone involved be it leadership position or Genreal member that the majority over look there current or past actions for ease or greater good. So his attacks on him arnt driven from moral compass it always stems back to that he can single handedly destroys teams on his own and sides actually can’t do anything to stop him. Resort to getting under his skin to hope he flips and gets carded is the only option. Every person has a threshold and his is pushed every week because of the player he is. It’s nuts.
Hes never put a foot wrong against our players or supporters and has reached out personally to them apologizing for actions of his other team mates. Probably because he isn’t being provoked to point of breaking.
WImmera leauge will go to bush quality like the district leauge if we can’t keep guns
calling league officials " a bunch of f#cking disgraces " isn't a wrong foot, yeah interesting.this Tom Williamson bashing has to stop. Yep. You miss read what I said.. I said he hasn’t put a wrong foot towards our club. Those comments you speak of above. Again.. you don’t like to hear it come from anyone but there is so much said on field each week. And Tom’s comments there as you suggest sound very much in reteliation. Choice of words not great hacalling league officials " a bunch of f#cking disgraces " isn't a wrong foot, yeah interesting.
also calling another players wife a fat c#nt?

But it doesn’t mean he’s above the rules and behaviours that every other player is beholden to.I’ve been hearing a lot about this Tom Williamson situation. I haven’t followed the league much but for some people he is the only reason people know of this league. He is a star player. Having someone of that calibre in your league is fantastic. He brings in a crowd. Obviously what he has done isn’t great apparently but people are talking like he has murdered someone. He may be in the wrong but do you really want him to get a lengthy suspension that will see him miss the rest of the finals. For an away person perspective he would be the only reason I would go to watch a Wimmera game, that’s not to say there isn’t other great players in the league but he is X-factor. He is in a league of his own. It’s pretty obvious teams would target him with abuse and it’s obvious to benefit them if he gets carded. So why is it that when he gives it back he is the one who gets in trouble. I know it sounds stupid but what do you really get out of suspending him. Less interest for the grandfinal, smaller crowd and less money going into the league. He could just as easily say nah I don’t want to play in this league anymore and I wouldn’t blame him from all the apparent abuse targeted his way, meaning the league would lose the best player/ the x-factor. All I’m saying is look at the bigger picture. Just because he beats your team off his own boot doesn’t mean you should turn on him.
Bit off topic but I thought the coverage of the District league grand final was pathetic in the weekly advertiser. Hope they can put in a bit more effort into the Wimmera league GF next weekHow many people/players/spectators/etc. have actually seen the Notice of Report Form? https://play.afl/sites/default/files/2025-04/AFL Victoria Country Notice of Report Pad 2025.pdf
In particular, how offenses are now graded and thus what happens if someone enters an early plea:

Because I have a feeling that the system is not performing as intended - either the person making the report is not grading it correctly, or the tribunal are not reading it correctly. This then reflects on the league, but it isn't necessarily a league decision at this point - the umpires are under their own jurisdiction and the tribunal, correct me if I am wrong, is fully independent. But using that concussion from a couple of weeks back as an example - by the descriptions that should have been graded as at least high impact, careless, high contact and thus with an early plea that is two weeks.
Once a decision is reached there are only two groups that can appeal - either the individual who caused the offense (ie, they think it was too harsh a penalty) or the league (ie, they think it was too lenient). There is no recourse for the person offended against, even if they think the penalty for the offender is too light. My understanding is that is a problem with the system state-wide - but if something is graded incorrectly then there is no further appeal.
The Advertiser have a great editorial here: https://www.theweeklyadvertiser.com.au/articles/editorial-sad-state-of-affairs/?section=1238
I think the call for better transparency is imperative, because it then clarifies all of these decisions and acts as a warning for others going forward. If it's all done in secret, that only allows for uninformed speculation.
This entire process, from start to finish, has seen us arrive in the current predicament - which is far from ideal.
I find that the Wimmera/District league is fairly well covered compared to other leagues but the lack of a decent footy record means the paper has to provide a bit more.Bit off topic but I thought the coverage of the District league grand final was pathetic in the weekly advertiser. Yes he isn’t above the rules but if any random said something like that there wouldn’t be an uproarBut it doesn’t mean he’s above the rules and behaviours that every other player is beholden to.

I know we are all sick of hearing about Tom. But while everyone is saying he should have got at least a week, let’s flip it around and use this chart the other way. If he’s being called a ‘rapist’ or anything of that serious nature by players or officials and the umpires are hearing it then by this chart there should be a lot of 1 match bans being handed out. Start dishing them out and you’ll see less of it. Calling someone that is absolutely not on.How many people/players/spectators/etc. have actually seen the Notice of Report Form? https://play.afl/sites/default/files/2025-04/AFL Victoria Country Notice of Report Pad 2025.pdf

His skill is NOT a excuse to abuse umpires, league officials etc if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime.I know we are all sick of hearing about Tom. The umpires in the Wimmera league are terrible at de-escalating situations before they happen and they have been for the best part of a decade. I’m not having a crack at the umps here it’s a thankless job BUT there is ways and means of de-escalating situations before they happen and I don’t think the current generation of umpires in the Wimmera do it well. There are a handful that actually make it worse.
Does more coaching need to happen in the de-escalating of situations?
