Very disappointing, but one good quarter of football is not going to cut it in finals. This is a missed opportunity for the playing group and the club.

The turning point was Membrey not going for goal and soon after Elliott not getting a free for front on contact. Once Brisbane replied soon after, the game was done.

Overall, Brisbane were just better than us for longer unfortunately.

Mihocek should be embarrassed. So should fly for selecting him tbh.

Oh well, season started with a lot of promise, ended up being a bit of a hot mess in different ways towards the end and we simply haven't been good enough in the midfield today.

A pressure-oriented game plan is a young players game plan as it wears you down over the season and older bodies simply find it harder to maintain that level of intensity, we were hoping they'd hang on but unfortunately our late season fadeout said otherwise.

Not a whole lot to be excited about for next year imo, as we've squeezed every drop out of this squad and we are clearly well short of the top two teams, so I can't see how we get to that next level now with what we have to work with.

Completely outclassed in the end. We simply aren't good enough this year, I can take some solace in that.

The two best teams usually make the grand final and this year is no exception. Congrats Brisbane, although I think Geelong will be too strong next week.

Well beaten. Our tall forwards especially did not do the job. Had us looking for two many cute balls and turning too many over.

Andrews 13 marks had a field day as feared.

The front on contact free that should have been paid to Elliott ended the game, but not sure that we were going to get anywhere if it was paid. They deserved the win anyway, their inaccuracy kept us in it longer than we should have been.

Jamie had a great game, but not too many went with him.

So ends a season of so much promise with a whimper.

Well, its been fun, but the piper is ready to be paid.

We need a fundamental rethink, and a pretty hard approach to our veterans. While certain commentators got some flack for it, they were right. When the season was on the line, the durability of our veterans cost us.

Have to really take a chainsaw to the top age bracket and renew with a hard edge.

We arent premiership contenders with this list, but if some youngsters step up, we can be in the mix.

Also disagree with with our midfield being our biggest weakness. I think our biggest issue is aside from Elliott none of our other forward are a threat up forward.

Defence had a shocker. Didn't take care of the basics. Stoppage goals and pack marks to mediums. Then in the opposite direction just couldn't finish it when we were out and away. Cox in the goal square didn't work - we needed Jamie there.

We don't have anything with which to recruit, including draft picks. We could be a long time in the wilderness thanks to a big risk which failed to work in our favour.

We had so many ordinary players today. De Goey was probably the most disappointing given his performance last week.

This loss is super depressing.
