I actually would rather loose today than next week.

The mate that I watched this game with (non Pies fan) and myself both agreed that whoever made the Grand Final after this game was going to lose. This game was hard and a frenetic pace. We were both surprised with the energy Brisbane had to run out this game after being the 3rd game in 3 states.. Geelong fortunately got the Easy team in the Prelim.

25 out last 35 grand finals have featured an interstate team, didn’t realise it was that high.

Is that that weird? There are a fair few of them, and they’ve had some brilliant sides in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide & West Coast

Mihocek continued his poor form. Should not have been playing.
Elliot and the daicos brothers a shining light tonight where not many stood up.
Pendles going down so soon definitely cost us as well.

Midfield got absolutely reamed all night. So disappointed. What a shit way to end the year. I guess its better than winning and getting pumped next week which I think would have inevitably happened...

Mihocek has been one of my favourite but that was as selfish a thing I've seen in footy.

I watched him for 10 minutes pre game and wasn't right. Very poor decision to play.

Same. I was actually telling my son about what Presti did back in the day and that was for the granny!

You don't win too many games like that.

Mihocek and Howe shouldn't have played.
Pendles should have put his hand up pre game, clearly knew something was up.

Would it have changed much, probs not.
But it's extremely questionable selection panel decisions like this that have plagued us for 3 months.

Tom Mitchell should have come in for this game. As well as McStay for Miocheck. Howe was worth the risk as we need another overhead mark in the back.. our backline has had issues.

We were simply outclassed and so it happens.
Please don't heap s**t on individual players. Anyone could point out certain players if they wanted, but at least they were out in the arena, which Is far more than many of us could do.
We finished the year way above many other teams.
Love my Pes. Love Jamie, especially.

With Pendles out, we are down an A grader, and you just can't have your best players be non contributors in big finals.

DeGoey was terrible, Houston was worse. Sidebottom pretty poor too.

We need way more speed in this team, recruiting two slow players in Perryman and Houston and not having Hill has killed us. Not sure where that speed comes from though.

Also makes you realise how hard it is to win one. You Need a combination of nearly every player being on top of their game + some good luck and timing. Would be nice to get two flags in quick succession like other teams, but definitely grateful we got one with the list we have.

I don't have a single bad word for Mihocek. He's awesome and carried us for a long time. I don't think he's done, just beat up this year and had no help today. Wish him well wherever he plays next year.

I’m being dead serious.

Having Cox playing deepest, not bringing the ball to ground and playing for frees was a liability for us for the first quarter.

He wasn’t good after either but at least Jaime was shuffled there, and it made a huge difference after the fact.

Look, I love cox more than any other straight man loves Cox, moreso the player than the object, it was just poor decision making From our coaches, and poor strategy…

You can disagree and provide your reasons if you like. But another, “you know nothing about anything” type response will just be disregarded.

Nah.. we can reload for one more try next year. The Hill saga was the beginning of things going south. Not sure if this upset the team emotionally or structurally or both.. but since he went out, we have been a shadow of ourselves. If we can get him playing again we are a chance next year. Also need Houston to improve, he's had a bad first year.

Brisbane played out of their skins in this game and had the umpires on their side. I haven't seen Brisbane play this good all year to be honest.. they just had manic defense and were everywhere. This was their Grand Final. They won't win next week.

The competition catches up and gets better, that 2023 side was rock slid everywhere for its time but they haven't improved since. Current day Collingwood is too thin through the midfield and forward line.
