It is for reef. They've been cautious with him, it's no secret. Timelines are definitely in operation when it comes to ACL injuries. Besides a handful of players who've come back earlier, 12 months is the standard. It's 12 months for a reason, you need the time for proper healing. Even my Google doctorship knows that. What you're suggesting is exception rather than the rule
The data disagrees with you and doctor Google. Average recovery time in the afl over the past decade sits between 10-12 months, so no what I’m suggesting isn’t the exception at all. If I was suggesting that a 9 month recovery was the average then you might have a point.

Brisbane benefited from getting games into some of their younger players. Hopefully we can do the same.

Frampton will have to assume the role of number 1 defender. Bruz can play on the second best tall with Cochrane on the third forward.

No one is expecting the output of Howe or Moore.

Please no. Theres's a shade of green named after 19 y/o Cochran, he's a mile off from filling in for Moore or Howe. He’s surely a 2027 debutant. Owens or Sharman would run rings around him.
Steene would be ahead of him regardless and would be a more balanced selection to present Cameron with a chop out.
I disagree, he needs senior games and will only get better.
Think he might surprise you :)
Who else is there?

I have not followed steene's progress this summer, anyone feel he has the ability to handle himself against Marshall and tdk?

Surely we run with buller, mcstay and West.

What’s Steene got to do with defensive options. ?

I'm pretty sure I read that Tim Membrey has been used as defender at times in the past.
What if they moved him, that way we could have Charlie in the side. :)

So a green ruckman would be a better and more balanced selection to replace Moore/Howe than a green defender?

Those must be some good pills you’re taking.

Cochran was playing well on Sunday & they took him off at 3/4 time. You would think that's because they thought he may have been needed for OR if Moore was ruled out.

Where exactly was that implied? With their injuries, St.Kilda don't have giants in the backline regardless.
We're playing for 4 Premiership points here; it's not a bloody pre-season game, naming Cochrane is borne from altruism. Our expected back 6 of Maynard, Perryman and Crisp have the experience and bodywork skills capable of getting it done on their remaining forwards once BBF gets another scalp in Marshall.

What position was he playing well in? Was he on a tall or a small? I watched the game, but for some reason Cochran's efforts largely escape my attention. I assume he is going to be played against St Kilda as a KPD?

Just my opinion but I think we'll be lucky if Steene is ready by 2028

It's simple. You get an ACL, you go to the doctor and he'll tell you you're looking at 12 months, he might also say that it could be a couple of months earlier or even later but 12 months is the general consensus. It takes 10 to 12 months to heal from the reconstruction. Most clubs go for the 12 months. Some are making more of it than they should. Reef obviously is one that's looking at 12 months, it's simple
I’ve done an ACL and one of my sons has done two, both on the footy field. So I’m speaking from personal experience. Are you?

The return to play is solely determined by functional, strength and recovery milestones. Suggested timelines are just that - a suggestion. If you meet the milestones early, you can return early. If it takes longer to meet them, your return to play blows out.

It’s simple.
