I usually try not to trade at this point other than rookie corrections but injuries are forcing my hand:

This week:

Gulden/Young to Jackson/Murdock - c. $260k banked

Next week:

McKercher (if stinks up again this week) to Houston - c. $290k banked

(I'll also consider if I need Cook based on this week)

Following week:

Blakiston (if no material improvement in next 2 weeks) to Ash

Avoided young, avoided Gulden - my biggest problem seems the trap of having Oliver. Is it worth moving him on now and treating it like trading the Gulden injury? I just don't trust him.
Albeit his stats look great on paper but the pace of the game I feel will go past him quickly

The Freo nuffs are saying 8 weeks+ for Young.

Watch him miss a week and then go on a 150 point spree
Could really do with a timeline from Freo. I suspect they’ll be very cautious with him which is leaning me to trade.

I think a straight-bat Gulden to Zerrett swap for me this week.

Holding Pou, T Marshall on the hope they're 1 week at most. Blakiston gets another go to show he's worth something.

Murdock and Cook the two rooks I'm missing. Will give 'em another look.

I've had my best Round 1 performance in years, so I can only assume it'll all go to custard shortly.

Averaging 95 after 2 games and GWS were absolutely pummelled last week. Easy hold until his bye at least.

I really wanted to start with Z. Merrett - he's been a great POD for years now. Had him last year though and B. Scott decided to start playing him forward more to give other mids a crack, so I gave him a miss this year. Seemed to be pretty much pure mid on the weekend and scored well as he always does in there, but I just don't trust Scott.

There is zero chance that Scott will play Merrett in the mids all season.

Scott knows Merrett is gone at the end of the season.

Scott should prioritise playing guys in the middle who will be at the club next season.

Yeah, that's how I see it as well. Though I just saw there has already been a bit of discussion on this topic around the traps and someone made a good point that Scott might be looking to save his own arse, in which case he is forced to play his best team which means Merrett full time midfield.

Still a no from me though, which sucks because he's a great player to have/watch.

Good thoughts. Zerrett has powered several of my best SC years as a PODish midfielder that just scoooooores. It's hard to figure out exactly what happens with Merrett over the year given his relationship with coach and club. Even in a reduced role he's gonna score. But it is a headache to understand what it looks like. I can just set-and-forget Noah Anderson instead, which I think I'll do. Plenty more trades and upgrades to be doing, it's not like Merrett is the one-off difference maker who'll fix it all.

Just to be different, I have a Gulden trade question :tonguewink:

How about trading Gulden, switching Traca into MID and then going for one of as my F2:
1) Rankine
2) Darcy
3) Thrillseeker

Thoughts?

Do I trade Pou or hold folks?
Assuming you’d be trading him for one of the rookies like Murdock wait a week. If he plays he’ll get a bit of cash injection and none of the rookies are on the bubble just yet.

Yup. I went Young to Cook early because who knows what trades I will need next week, and would not like to burn a flex. Hold the Poo

Should have just traded him in that case
