How's Dyson Sharp's preseason going?

Personally I'm rapt with Duff Man and he and Duursma are going to fantastic for us. Very excited to see the yoof we're accumulating grow and develop together.

What we did last year is what we should've done with Harley and found a way to draft another high end talent who he's good mates with. Duursma and Lindsay were Vic Country co-captains and good mates, Duursma and CDT were roommates at the AFL Academy and were having talks of the prospect of them both playing for West Coast long before the draft. And from what I can see Lindsay and CDT are very chummy as well.

That's your core right there. Harley was left on an island to himself and we didn't have another pick until pick 30. Barrass had overtures to go to Sydney that offseason, we could've gotten their pick 16 and then some for him to pair with Harley, but they decided to sit on their hands and think they had one last run with the over the hill gang.

I mean sure, but the champs can be misleading especially with elite talent and how they are used coaching.

It’s clear as day after the few times we’ve seen him now he has talent in spades and traits for his size that are gonna make him a really difficult match up.

This is why recruiters are recruiters I guess.

This club is stuffed for the next five years. I look forward to the acrobatics when we finish bottom 4 for the next FIVE years and potentially Duursma and Harley leaving the club 2027 together to reduce the hate. I haven't included CDT because he's not going to be worth anything come his request for trade


I might tune in until the names get picked to see if they are Hail Mary trades. The last time I felt gloomy was preseason last year and turns out I was right when we won game. Best thing coming out of the trade and draft peroid is DEV.

Everything that he did today was clean.

The first goal was very very clever, but it was the assist for Yeo’s first that really impressed me the most. Contested the ball well, brought it to ground in a really predictable area, but then followed it up with agility a guy his size shouldn’t have.

Looks like he belongs at the level and when he works out just how powerful he really can be- look out.

This time last year I was keeping tabs on him as a potential number 1, had some really good games at the start of the Coates season which got him early buzz. I would've been happy with him or Duursma at number one, but then Oscar Allen and the hand of God blessed us and we were able to double dip.

As the old says goes, f*ck positional needs...ALWAYS...DRAFT...THE TALENT. Midfielders will always be there at the top of the draft, blokes like CDT at the top of the draft rarely come around. You just gotta take him.

Taking Duursma I guess gave us the luxury of being able to take a 'swing' at CDT.

It’s one thing to be a tall who is good below his knees (Jackson, TDK etc) but to be super clean and efficient with decision making like an elite midfielder (Butters, Serong etc) is proper unicorn behaviour.

12 disposals at 83% disposal efficiency, 2 goals, 2 goal assists, 3 clearances, 9 contested possessions (including a contested mark), 5 score involvements and 100 champion data points is pretty fantastic as a 2nd game for a tall.
