How far off in standard would the RDFL be to NFNL?
Skipped out to watch 2nd half of Diggers and North Heidelberg this afternoon, north who didn’t feature in finals and lost a few were dominant. Both Markov and Moore playing for diggers.

Northern football league use to be number 1 in Victoria only a few years ago. Its a strong league. Pretty sure they knocked off Geelong football league to take the top spot.

You would think The Eastern would be the best metro comp and the O and M or Geelong would be the best country comp. That being said and not knowing who was and wasn't available, Darley apparently were way too good for Keilor last week (Ballarat v Essendon).

Any scores from other practice games today? Not that these a re great indications as Doona has stated

I’d argue NFL has tapered the last 10-20 years compared to VAFA premier, even Eastern, O&M, Geelong but it’s all good footy that we should love and embrace for its differences and offerings.

Let’s please not get blinded by the new RDFNL label as “major league football”

Maybe soon, but not yet …

No soccer this weekend so I went and watched Wallan v Epping practice match. Hard to gauge much in a thrashing like that. Smart was really good, Hill too. Ground was in pretty good nick given all the rain of late.

Nice to see High street is so much better now too.

Division 1 (especially Heidelberg who are a powerhouse sitting well above their Division 1 peers) is significantly stronger than RDFNL. The top 3 RDFNL teams would make finals in division 2 as there is a significant drop off after the top 2-3 teams. The middle teams would likely be in the lower reaches of division 2 or finals contention in division 3. The bottom teams would struggle in division 3.

Sir_Greed so you are saying Wallan would make finals in Division 2?

Tips and margins for round 1?
Kyneton 130 - Harry Ryan and Chan Hargraves to combine for 15+ goals

Macedon 64 - Josh Govan to take the pi55

Romsey 36 - Lancefield to have a crack for 3 quarters but Romsey top end talent to be the difference

Diggers 104 - Any team getting with 100 of Diggers this year are doing well.

Wallan 57 - Smart to kick double figures round 1

Didn’t Ryan put in a clearance to aberfeldie?

Maybe 1 of them could push for 5th but not all 3 make finals
