Can't fault the effort.
A bit too much trying to be cute which didn't suit the conditions.
Crucified by the umps more than usual.
A lot of hack clearing kicks became turnovers which we need to work on because other teams seem more composed in similar situations.

Voss dropping Hewett for HOK was just absolutely crazy Vossy stuff. Unimaginably bad for a guy with his job on the line. Then completely changing up our CBA for the start of the second qtr after it worked so well and they pile on 6 goals in a matter of minutes. He's just not the guy. I like him as a person, but he just doesnt see the game like you need a senior coach to.

Some improvements, but another loss and harder teams to come.

The state of the game is so shameful, umpires are atrocious and confused constantly, normal out of bounds are getting reviewed? But not all of them? Not sure I really enjoy watching it anymore.

Interesting how well Cripps and Walsh played in the first half but got completely stopped after that. Can pitto build to a full game player? Voss needs to sort out the tag. Walsh was completely irrelevant after 1/4 time. Jagga worst game in blue. 7 day break v 6 against the pies next week. Big game.

yep. People getting sucked into 'promising signs'. Cripps went ballistic in the first. So did Walsh - there's the promising sign... Crows went ballistic in the second. Rain came. They played 2 behind the ball as extras the whole second half and just cruised home and we still couldn't do much.

Rain... And the contested specialist team failed again...

And whatever the plan was with Holland's following Rachele in the first half. Doofus planning.

I am still to this day absolutely flabbergasted how this club thought weiterings partner Lewis fn Young was sufficient and have in no way done anything to rectify it.

Cripps starting the second quarter on the bench after his herculean first quarter is just a remarkable coaching mishap. Completely lost all of our momentum.

Umpires were really bad but so was our decision making and ball movement. Result is probably a fair reflection of the game and where we stand. Tried very hard but we're shit.

Better effort for sure which is always good, but still so many passengers out there that show we're a long way off.

We’ve just got to be better when we get the ball back in our back half, particularly around the 50 arc. Left a lot scores out because of it. Can’t fault the effort but I think they can give an extra 5% without the footy. Got to work hard for your teammates when we have the footy. Not enough leads to open the ground up. Lastly, the umpires have some explaining to do. We’ve been absolutely shafted the last two weeks in our defensive half, with questionable free kicks agains and non calls. Anyways, plenty of time to get better and shake up the comp. Funnily enough, this performance has given me some belief that we can cause a few upsets in the next month.

But, there are some considerations.

We’re missing our most important defender.
3 have come back from injuries.
2 are new to the club, one who made his AFL debut last week.

The backline has not played together at all.

Jagga, once injected into the game made stuff happen.

They were the better team, but the opening of that second quarter was diabolical for a number of reasons. Four centre bounce free kicks of which maybe two were there and two could easily have been paid to us. And Crippa on the bench. One is the AFL, the other is Voss.

Also, our inability to kick scores from back half is the reason Voss needs to go. It was an issue in 2023 when we were playing well. Our kick outs are diabolical and if we do turn it over in their forward line, we hand it back. Voss has had five years to fix this one issue. He has not. Is it any surprise we can’t win second halves etc.
