Important that the club supporters don't pile-on the players now. We can't complain that they didn't have a crack - they were horribly out-matched with so many of our gun players out or trying to play with injury.

That was not a terrible performance given all of the circumstances. I'm going to be looking for positives in our remaining games and looking forward to a better 2027. Injuries have ruined this season.
Nicely said, Mutt 👍🏻

In t he new contract we are offering Buku I hope there is a clause specifically punishing “ excess time sitting on your arse after every contest and not getting up to compete in the next contest.”
I acknowledge that he played well earlier this season but he is not a KPD, it’s as a third tall or not at all

Our inability to tackle still shocks me
Our ability to hot potato a 1 metre handpass to a teammate in an equally bad position never shocks me.

Contrast sit with the Swans who always put a contested ball into space where they have a conga line of players waiting to swoop on it.

Naughty is clear from serious injury. Not much else to care about in regards to the match.
Treloar now needs 14 more games to get to the 100 for the doggies.
I’m not sure he will get to it, I hope he can, but concerned.

I love Treloar, but can we play him again? I'm sure the effort was there but he could barely get out of a canter.
I feel like the extra year was a textbook calculated gamble by the club. If it works out the risk is rewarded, if it doesn’t, it was still worth the risk.

Our boys were out on their feet after a 3rd consecutive 6 day breaks, young players who haven't developed the conditioning you get from a mature career, and having to finish last week with 1 on the bench. In some ways I'm almost glad we were never a chance to win, because the fixturing impact of those short breaks and the fact that Opening Round fixturing is such a joke (no wonder Sydney look a million bucks when they start the season at home earlier than everyone else while we play a tough game in tropical conditions two days later) might have otherwise cost us a win.

Thought Bailey Wiliams had a good game and Sellwood again played well. Kennedy is obviously also carrying an injury, could hardly move and only had 59% TOG - so we have Richards/Bont/Kennedy/Treloar not at their best while English and Libba are out.

Umpiring was shocking. Buku playing too far forward. Ball movement stalled after quarter time. Hope Naughts is ok.

On another note, hated the pre-game presentation, really poor for a Premiership celebration. Should’ve introduced the players out one by one. Video package seemed rush. The whole thing was anticlimactic

No matter what happens, Bont played in a Premiership. Yeah we've been shit for his prime years but many star players never have that success. Nat Fyfe, Nick Reiwoldt etc. 2016 was such a special flag that I'm happy if it's the only one I ever see. Love this club and love Marcus Bontempelli. How good was he tonight?

Gee we fumbled a lot tonight, much more than normal. Young team, very inexperienced. Not disappointed, everyone tried.

Everyone forward of centre tonight was a train crash, no composure, more shanks than a middle eastern stew. It’s been a theme last few weeks and we simply can’t score anymore.

Khamis, my goodness, his positioning is just so poor. West played his best after the whistle. Davidson craps the bed with each possession. Freijah should be back on the HBF, alongside the suddenly inconsistent Dale.

Treloar runs on the spot in his twilight, he’s games from the end.

No point getting too angry about it.

Get used to the idea of Busslinger and Gardner holding the fort for at least another couple of weeks because Lobb's going to have to return straight to the forward line to actually give us a target to kick too. Lewis was just anonymous in the 2nd half and Emmett is the most project player I've seen in some time.

Freijah in particular seems to have bought into his own hype.
Been poor most of the season, was surprised when anyone defended him this season tbh.

Also we saw tonight the importance of Lobb down back IMO. Again, was surprised with the claims we wouldn't lose much by moving him out. Their 3 talls killed us. Happened all last season whenever we tried to make him an interceptor too. Unfortunately we need him to lock down someone to help the rest of the guys out.

Poor skills again. Some of the young guys are super fumbly, which is to be expected somewhat, but just too many basic skill errors from established players like Freijah, West, Richards, Dale. Not sure I see it with Hynes or Davidson.

Of the inexperienced guys, Buss, Sellwood and Jacques were good. Smith and Dolan tried hard.

Well the whole team tried hard, which was good to see. Fought it out very undermanned. Not sure we would have seen that in past seasons.

I think Lachie Smith will be ok as a player. Not sure ruck is his best spot though. He's got physicality but not the leap. Grundy could out leap him. He's better around the ground as he can body anyone. Emmett has the opposite problem. Good leap but he's young and not strong enough.

Gardner is very much passed it. Buku is very much a 3rd tall kpd intercepting and coming out 3rd man up is his thing isn't good 1v1. Busslinger was the only good 1v1 key defender in the game. Kept Logan out of it then kept Artey out of it when he went to him. He needs to stay.

Like Whitten, he got a Premiership early and lost one a bit later on.

Now it is time the Bont moved aside and hands the keys to this club to Sellwood.
