OUT: L.Young, Lord, Florent (rest), Byrne (rest), Moir, Evans (knee), Cottrell

IN: O.Hollands, Hewett, Saad, Wilson, McKay, F.Young, Acres

I'm not 100% sold on dropping Evans despite him looking proppy on his knee, but I do know we need an extra runner and to just throw numbers at midfield and midfield pressure, and that's going to come at the expense of Lewis Young and our relatively slower and underperforming forwards.

Wilson, Acres, Saad (aside from his hammy looking a little suspect on return), and Hewett have done nothing but put their hand up in the VFL when fully fit.

Florent and Byrne still look cooked after the 3 game crunch, and Byrne's form has also tapered off while we have no shortage of performing players in the twos.

Harry Dean - Jacob Weitering - Ollie Florent
Billy Wilson - Nick Haynes - Nic Newman

Matt Carroll - Patrick Cripps - Matt Cottrell
Marc Pittonet - Sam Walsh - Jagga Smith

Ben Ainsworth - Harry McKay - Zac Williams
Flynn Young - Mitch McGovern - Will Hayward

Adam Cerra - Brodie Kemp - Cooper Lord - Frank Evans - Lachie Cowan

7 changes? only 1 forced? No way that's happening mate...

Wilson collected 40 touches, deserves a go in place of Florent who looks cooked to me.

Ollie will probably come back in, not sure Cottrell will be the one making way (although he should)

Harry will be straight back in and Moir will be making way for that.

If Pitto is right, I guarantee he comes back in with Reidy out.

So 3, potentially 4 changes max.

Is Cerra actually more influential than Hewett or is it negligible and we’ve chosen the younger of the two?
Pretty much. George was off his game a bit and hopefully straightening out some flaws but will bounce back you’d think - certainly got the numbers in the VFL. Needs to be more damaging.

Cez is off the pace and his kicking has fallen right away.

Cerra has been flat stick since resuming and this was his best game so far statistically, but he was sitting out of the centre a bit in favour of Lord, who did not have a good game.

As I said in the VFL comments during the week, I wouldn't have picked Lord. Felt the same way about Cottrell and Moir.

**** Jack Silvagni.

If this clubs has any old Carlton left in it, we would send Reidy to hurt him a few times.

Just have to win this one.

Unpopular and likely won’t be considered let alone happen, but I reckon if Jagga isn’t playing on ball in the ones he needs to be dropped.

Go dominate the VFL, 80% CBA, get your hands dirty, tidy up your disposal. I don’t like seeing him waste away on a HFF, it’s doing nothing for his development and he won’t be there long term. Ison and Young have shown enough to get a shot at that spot in the side.

He was more of an attacking mid and wing, the latter of which being something he needs to learn as he develops.

His tank is the issue at the moment, more specifically his anaerobic capacity so he can kick a bit cleaner and with power when he gets the ball on the outside of a contest.

Not sure how the VFL helps with either issue unless he's suffering from a lack of confidence.

I don’t see his tank as an issue, was handling the load fine until they took him out of the midfield for the North game.

Understand it’s a long season and he will need to be managed, just don’t think the HFF is the best way of doing that, both for his development and for team structure. He’s not going to be a flanker or even a winger long term.

Dominating the VFL for a few weeks wouldn’t be the worst thing imo.

Interesting match selection coming up.

In no particular order, all available and most also in decent form off the back of a good win.

Flynn Young
George Hewett
Harry Mckay
Marc Pittonet
Billy Wilson
Jordan Boyd
Wade Derksen
Lachie Fogarty
Adam Saad
Harry Charelson
Blake Acres
Jack Ison
Campbell Chesser
Ollie Hollands

Only outs id expect would be Young, Cottrell and Byrne.

I don’t think I can ever remember a 1-6 side having so much trouble bringing in players. ATM I’d happily bring in 4-5 players but find it hard dropping more then a couple.

I’d give Pitto another week off.

Harry in for Moir but i don’t think he was terrible. He will also have to ruck if Young goes out

F Young for Byrne

Saad imo should be playing so I would bring him in for Young

We need to try Wilson. Maybe give him another week or so with the idea of giving him a good 4-6 game block of games. Personally I’d bring him in for Cottrell but I imagine Hollands will replace him.

Lord didn't have a good game? He kept Serong quite while also laying 6 tackles.

7 changes is not happening after a strong performance against a likely top four team
