Collard at half back is an interesting move.
How good does he look hey.Time for an irrational prediction whilst watching main training...
Charlie Banfield will be a consensus top 10 pick in any 2025 redraft by the time he is out of his teens.
I think we are ready to give them a smashing. They are very vulnerable on the outside which is our strength. I also predict that the First Nation's lads will be pumped to do it for RTB this round.
Think it's really good for his development, can't lose focus the way he does playing in defence. We've enough small forwards anyway.Collard at half back is an interesting move.

I could just imagine walking in with Joffaboy / saintmike / thejackal all slobbing back on a large sofa in only their underpants in the loungeroom each with a big bucket of KFC .... mirror screening the training vids they took earlier in the day on a huge 98inch OLED.... only then do I hear a toilet flush and turn around, look down and see Brendon Bolton walk out of the toilet with a packet of biscuits and reaching out with his other hand he says .... Tony74 ..... nice to meet you!!View attachment 2597551
St Kilda Bigfooty need to purchase this ASAP.

Man, someone seems to have a bit of spare time today to let their imagination wander to some weird and peculiar places.Let's buy it and turn it into a Interstate supporter hostel, watch training during the week, organise bus trips into the stadium from there etc.Cool, somewhere to stay when I visit Melbourne![]()

I'm serious!
Well, to me you have to play Macrae where the ball is - and he will prosper from our rucks getting first hand on the ball (noting Marshall does his own clearance work!!) as a feeder.I agree, but Macrae is versatile enough that he isn't necessarily stuck playing in the middle (which was Steele's problem). He can play half forward and wing as well if needed.
I'd just rather Macrae in the side as another string to our bow if they get on top of us. We saw what happened when Adelaide did that.
Quite frankly, as a KPP forward (or defender) you need a physical presence in the contest, so able to hold your ground even to bring the ball to ground.I wasn't thrilled with Doogs last week but structurally he's important this week. Ryan out means we have room / need for another aerialist up forward.
Doogs down back, and let the Viking assume his natural spot at the prow of the longboat.
I was being a bit silly with my analogy, I just liked the sound of it.Quite frankly, as a KPP forward (or defender) you need a physical presence in the contest, so able to hold your ground even to bring the ball to ground.
Look at May, formerly of Melbourne. He commanded space.
IF you are relying on your leap, you can be too easily blocked from flying for the mark.
Tauru is not a KPP option at this stage.
Cleary on Agenda Setters reckons Max is still a week or two more in the vfl, makes sense, just so keen to see him play afl again.

Ross said he saw him as a future runner like Brad Hill at one stage
Very interesting. He has good basic skills so this should help him get involved in the game some more and hopefully build his confidence.Ross said he saw him as a future runner like Brad Hill at one stage
There will be some players under pressure to impact and hold a position with the likes of King, Clark and Ryan to return (and even Keeler and Tauru with their height and versatility, so options in the 23)Blues super-competitive in Perth last week against Freo and this week lose no-one to injury, but regain McKay, Pittonet, Saad and Ollands.
Any win here will be an excellent and necessary result, against our feeder club.
Looking forward to seeing Henry back. When I saw that we had a couple of Liam’s in I was thinking LOC was one of them, but I forgot we’ve started a Liam collection, to go with the Jacks!

Couldn't disagree more on Hall, second in our team in score involvements, tenth for touches, fourth for goals. Kicking is elite. Not many having more impact than him. There will be some players under pressure to impact and hold a position with the likes of King, Clark and Ryan to return (and even Keeler and Tauru with their height and versatility, so options in the 23)
To me, those who will be under pressure to impact include Butler, Hall and Caminiti.
Plus Henry returning (and I have no doubt as to his class and him thriving) and the ex Carlton duo Stocker and Carroll.
Hall has shown signs only this season so no consistency to date, needing to lift to impact on games status (noting Macrae in the Seconds and others talked up on here as the next "big thing").
Caminiti had the touches he had last week and generally ineffective.
Butler ditto, generally ineffective.
King, Clark and Ryan are automatic selections when fit, so the blow torch is on, which is a good thing.
