I’m incredibly concerned that we are the new Essendon/Carlton. A used to be powerhouse that now spins around the toilet bowl ad-nauseam with fake platitudes and a ‘she’ll be right, we’re too big to be this shit for too long!’ mentality.

That’s my point we have no experienced players anywhere and are young everywhere. Richmond had experience everywhere, especially the defence.

So there is no fix but bringing in Cripps over a young player isn’t the answer.
This is completly untrue, Richmond have some experienced defenders and a sprinkling of others around the ground. Reallistically similiar to us in terms of experience.

They have some semblance of structure and ball movement which we just dont have for some inexplicable reason. I felt like we won more of the contests but are ineffectual doing it. Aside from some individual efforts from Harley, Yeo and TK from centre bounces we hardly troubled the scorers.

We have too many players around the contest not impacting it and therefore a missed tackle or similiar and the other team has players outside the contest linking and overlapping, even Richmond did this on several occasions which is disappointing.

Going forward is a disaster which has been said a million times. Going slow and bombing long or wide. We somehow still have no forward pressure, although sometimes its cause the other teams plus one. Early in the season Murdock was relentess pressure in the fwd half and now he chasing uncontested marks up the ground, why?

Footskills look bad but alot of the time its because of the inability to handball chain and pick up the ball cleanly that invites the pressure.

Difference being that we’ve been shit for like 5 years, and have won 2 flags this century. Can’t really be said for the other 2

No I know, but I feel like a lot of us are hoping for something that may never come, or will take a lot longer than we all expect. We could be in the woods for a while, y’know?

Not sure what everyone expects of Mini. The boys responded today but their skills are terrible. For some, they won't make it. For others, it's mental, particularly the young guys. Mini can't go out and execute for them. Our on-field leaders have a role to play here though as they are kicking, handballing and fumbling the football. I'll excuse the kids as they won't be making the same kinds of mistakes as they are now in a couple of years time.

What I expect is that the glaring obvious issues actually get addressed, both in a practical sense on game day and addresses to the public so we know that the coach is at the very least looking at it.

Not once this year has Mini mentioned the complete ease the opposition are transitioning the ball from our fwd 50 to the oppo fwd 50. We get beaten by it every single week and every week it's "we just need to grow and do better".
It's garbage talking points that doesn't help anyone and worse still the players are not improving in this area at all. If anything we are worse than we were in rd2 and rd3 this year.

Fumbles and composure in kids can be excused but not for experienced players like Duggan, Waterman, Owies, Shoenberg, etc. In saying that Mini needs to put the heat on those players rather than just trotting out the same old lines. "Duggans great, Duggan provides us experience and leadership, blah blah blah".

I want Mini in a presser actually giving a shit, get angry for ****s sake.

Things will turn around quickly but we're still a couple of years away from that point. Losing Robertson and Graham have hurt the side more than expected. We'll continue to bring in talent over the next couple of drafts. The main concern for me is KPD, as Young/Brock/Bazzo aren't it and Edwards might not get a fair run at it.

"The boys responded today" - They played the worst team in the comp (other than us). Hard to tell if there was really any response from last week. We'll see against Melbourne.

Look at the game, not the scoreboard. Effort was fine. Skills were not.

I want to be positive like you man, I admire that you can see the green shoots through all this.

I know I’ll wake up tomorrow and shrug it off with a ‘whatever’, it’s sitting on this damn forum with all the vitriol and the hate and the anger that genuinely gets to me.

Maybe I should take a break, I genuinely enjoy a lot of the takes on here, but some of the negative stuff is really affecting my mental health. It makes me hate watching the footy, which is something that used to give me joy when I was severely depressed.

Typical piss weak excuses we have been hearing for 5 years.

"The coach doesn't kick and hand ball."

FFS at least get something original. We can argue this point ad nauseum but you're just wrong mate.

The coach excuses the shit performances when he tolerates them from senior players and right now Duggan is the most glaring problem he won't deal with.

I honestly couldn't give a **** if our rookies made mistakes, that's a given but when you tolerate it for the most part from the captain it sends a message to the rest of the team that they don't have to apply, they can pick and choose when to be good, when to go hard, when to tackle and they know the coach doesn't have standards he applies across the board.

Duggan has cost us goals and momentum in games and should have been dropped.

It's the same as when Simpson was coach. He tolerated the shit from senior players and it sent the same message.
He had his players he dropped routinely but they were the rookies and whipping boys.

Bo Allan shouldn't have been dropped, Duggan very clearly should have but because he's untouchable Allan gets the blame. Allan will go back and try very hard not to get an attitude but if he does he will languish in the wafl because the coach is now aware and doesn't tolerate it from him.

Watermans kicking is shocking and has cost us arguably the game today. Set shot from 30 out directly in front missed when it would have put us 2 goals up but instead of doing something about it 5 weeks ago when it cost us a good start he does **** all.

It's the same shit in the side that Simpson dished up and ultimately cost Simpson his job but in the mean time it could cost us great players in development who will want out because we have a 10 percent win ratio under mcqualter.

10 percent......3 games out of 32.....no the coach doesn't kick and hand ball.

Really? Were you watching a game from 2018?
What I saw was Richmond waltzing out of defence time after time without pressure.

The boys responded after last week in minis mind because we didn't lose by 100 points again.

He ain't getting the flick at the bye.

Pretty confident he will at least last the season.
Wouldn't want many more 100 beltings though.

Hold on to your hat.

Can see at least another 3.

Brisbane, Fremantle and hawks if not the Bulldogs.

And that's not taking into account any outliers like the saints game that was unexpected

Well drilled sides with structure and talent will dismember us.

What are you talking about?

I already said that 'Wouldn't want many more 100 beltings though".

Watching the game live and from an elevated position, it looked like we were deliberately playing 5-10m off the tiges players in defensive transition. Nearly every player.

This was even early on in the game so can’t just be fatigue.

It hard to be in the contest in that situation, for such a young team. Any team with reasonable skills just picks that apart.

That'd all be well and good if we weren't playing a depleted Richmond side on our home deck.

On paper we should have won comfortably and that falls on the coach.
