If it did happen the way Blue_Fusion said and we did match a bid at Pick 3 (2234 points), we would have an end of 1st round pick coming in (by bidding on Cochrane) and then we could use our own 2nd round pick? Let’s say these picks are 23 (815) and 27 (703). That would leave us 716 points short, which could be applied with the 10% discount and going into deficit in 2027.
Not quite. The compo pick is only given the next night of the draft, so technically, we can't use what we don't have.
Also, 10% discount will apply, so it's 1961pts to match a pick #3 bid.
