Cody's kicking was funny today. Hit some great kicks under pressure and missed some easy targets in the clear. Still a problem area for him I think but was much cleaner then in either of the academy games.

Yes Cody’s kicking can be a bit hit and miss, but he single handedly got us back in the game. His handballs in tight are elite and his IQ is superb. He’s also quicker than any mid on our list, closes space in a blink.

Like Jezz says, he’s not the Messiah. But in a close game or one where we are flagging he will be the guy, on his day, who either gets us back into the contest or wins us the game.

I'm not suggesting laid back. I'm looking at more mysterious, and a lack of being superfluous and elaborative. He's very meat and potatoes. Almost a little dull with his playing style.
That's fair, but generally it does seem to be used by commentators to mean that.

I actually think he is a little bit like early career Bont

Not perfect, but when it comes off it’s sublime

The area he is genuinely perfect in already is his cleanliness of the deck, easily the cleanest below his knees out there

Man, the club is in a bit of a bind here. There is some great talent coming through on a bit of a different timeline to most of our current key players. Curious whether they’ll look to trade someone unexpected…
Aside from Cody Walker probably too early to say relating to the others.

unexpected? Nothing is a surprise these days

Charleson is a player. Showed a bit of mongrel too. A very reliable kick, which we don't have an abundance of.

Moir very important in 2 of Ison's goals. Can do the impossible, but is adding the quality moments that aren't reflected on the stats sheet.

Wilson not as good this week, but surely he is knocking on the door.
I don’t agree. He’s just a player. Has no AFL attributes unfortunately.

The Carlton disease, the one where we all freeze and can't raise a fist in anger, hit the Magoo's in the second quarter.

But they overcame it, I felt they changed the midfield mix during the latter stages of the second, definately stemmed the blood flow, the coach almost went into each centre contest with a different mix. Riley, Young , HOK all rucked with all sorts of midfield combinations rotating through.

It wasn't George or bust, a Campo, Fogarty, Cody, Chesser, Moir, heck even young Hoggy went through and we slowly dragged ourselves back into the game, and eventually recaptured the lead to hang on!

No one panicked, the coach challenged them at three quarter time to play with "dare", and made the point of "being aware at all times of their (Aints) exits". And the players absolutely bought in, you could see it.

The big fella took plenty of marks, didn't see him knocked around at all; Duffy everywhere, ditto George; Ison and Moir tag team looks good; I'd take another spoon to secure Cody, some of his shimmy's had to been seen, literally glided through packs, kids is generational. Billy Wilson gets it but also wastes it, Blacres had flashes, as did Boyd and Fogarty. Charleson is a mongrel, gave away a 50 but rag dolled the Ainter so it was worth it.

By the wat 30 frees to our 12!!!!! Serious criminal umpiring, that somehow found it's way down Royal Parade later on.
Late lunch at Yasis in Southbank with some lovely Retsina, was the way Little Dirty and I spent our afternoon. We wore our Leeds caps to Marvel, copped a few strange looks....

I'm just going to follow the Magoo's for the rest of the year, at least they'll have a dip

We are all looking for a bit of positivity and its great the 2s are winning, but let's be frank. With the amount of senior talent we had against a second last Stkilda we shouldve won by 10+ goals. A lot of stat padding going on.

Stat padding in a game that went to the line? How does that work?

Jagga, Dean, Ison, Carroll, HOF and Cody are top end talents. All under 21 years old. They're the players to build around for the future.
HOF is one I feel people forget
He looks incredible, can’t wait until he’s back
Dean is also a serious player for his first year

Was doing some run throughs outside Ikon Park with a trainer during the VFL game. Definitely bulked up a bit, was moving very nicely in his sprints.
