Posted this in the VFL thread but wanted to share here too in case anyone misses it

I feel this is a good move.

Gets the ball into his hands, and bring him into the game.

Then can whack him forward to rest.

I gotta say I couldn’t think of many things I’d rather do less than listen to a bunch of saints nuffies commentating on our games when we’re playing like shit but listening to others teams doing it… compelling.

Don't know the ins and outs of what were the contractual situations or impact on salary cap but would rather have Jack on the list than Macrae.

Still can't feel good about pushing Jack out.
Ripping the bandaid off was the best thing. Some fresh air for the next gen.

There's a German word for that!

Hard to believe we beat Freo by 61 points last year.

Those 2025 early season wins are much more impressive than our wins this year. The big difference is the losses.
Think you have to factor in the draw
We’ve won interstate against Power GWS and lost Crows by 1 point
Yes we beat Freo and Cats but both at Marvel ?
I think this years draw is tougher …

I think he needs a month of good footy to prove it wasnt a fluke. I reckon he comes in for our round 13 clash against Sydney.
We have brought him in off a lot less. Not playing with repeat performances like that may discourage him. Also with Nas spending little time on the hbf we could use someone with those type of foot skills and speed. Also from the snippets in the highlights package, i think because he has been a small forward he can read the ball off the pack well, which is something our defenders struggle with imo

I just wanted to joke about bringing him in for the pride game

votes for 6 players born in/after 2002 is the equal most in the league (those you mentioned minus Sharman)

alongside North (McKercher, Trembath, FOS, Wardlaw, Sheezel, Curtis)

Pies are last with only one player. who happens to have more votes than our 6 combined
The pies votes were all in for the season before the season started.

Yep agree. The Schadenfreude is delicious. Is that Andy Maher ha ha ha? What a twat. Suck it up Blue boys. OMG I hate them. Nothing better than giving them a pasting and seeing their frustrated, crumpled up little faces.

Been said before but I love seeing our VFL side in our colours.

Collard looking very promising.
Come on kid, time to get your career on a roll.

I liked this before I realised the joke. Great to see him hit some nice kicks but I do think he will need to spend more time there learning the system. It definitely looks like he has the attributes to forge a path back into the seniors, but another month minimum will do him some good.

The irony is we will be without Higgins, Butler and possibly Ryan this weekend. If Ryan doesn't get up it'll be interesting to see whether Lance gets picked as a small forward, or if the view has completely shifted to training him down back

They had a pretty simple triangle outlet stoppage and contest structure and they hold that pretty well. Voss was a clearance beast and it looks like it’s all he coaches well. It’s also under 12s stuff and pretty easy to fix.

We essentially went man/sweeper to start the second half, got their clearance domination stopped and the game stopped. It was obvious on tv and presumably obvious to Ross. As soon as we stopped their clearance domination (not the numbers but the type of clearance they were getting) they started to drop their heads, the rest was pretty elementary.
Idk if it was that simple to be honest, we dominated clearance in the second quarter and still got dominated everywhere else.

I think it was about defending their spread as much as anything else, as soon as we stopped their easy outlets from D50 our clearance dominance took over and they gave up pretty quickly.

Statistically we had the same clearances at half time but ours were scrappy, they had outlet and release for clean footy so they had better clearances. They weren’t really transitioning well they were getting clean footy out of contests and we weren’t.

We cut that outlet off and slowed their movement then our clearance game kicked in.

And by the way. I don’t believe we should be using the term Carlscum in our official thread title, or Norf or Filth or any other derogatory term use their proper name.
Use it in the body of the thread as much as you want.
