I think alot share your view but I generally like Hinkley on commentary. I like that he adds a bit more depth to the conversation rather than just fake hype screamed into a mic.
Yep for most of the game I agree and do find it quite interesting, but the last 1-2 minutes of that showdown deserved a little bit of excitement. Maybe he was overly mindful of coming across as being more excited for Port than the Crows so just played everything deadpan.

Jfc. For all our issues, it could be significantly worse - imagine being a blues or bombers supporter. Even this saints side isn’t good, WC remain rubbish, Richmond have a way to go, and North still have a soft underbelly.

Cripps looks cooked. Only 31 as well
Carried that side for so long, his body now at breaking point.

Deserves better, IMO. Seems like a good bloke.

Carlton?

Yeah…nah.

Prediction - Carlton get destroyed by Brisbane in an embarrassing 30 goal loss - Voss falls on his sword the next day. Carlton appoint an interim coach for their next game which is against..... the bulldogs.

Sportsbet has dropped Nick Foot as a racing analyst/commentator.
AFL & Sportsbet embarrassed into action at last.
*Sportsbet embarrassed into action at last.

The AFL did nothing but allow it, and by the fortune of a 3rd party's decision it went away for them.

You don’t think that the AFL & Sportsbet would have been having damage control discussions ?

Probably. But the AFL's name isn't on the final decision so why would they get even the slightest bit of credit for this extra late call?

Its funny to think that a betting company would do anything out of a sense of embarrassment.

They like all on-line gambling agencies and other so called disruptors are shameless parasites and a blight on society.

SportsBet are of course a subsidiary of a US multinational who are based out of Ireland. So as to minimise the tax that they should pay after (figuratively) raping Australians.

I don't think SportsBet is at fault one bit. They couldn't give a rats about integrity and optics. If they think Foot was a good choice for whatever he did there, fantastic

It's all on the AFL. They should care (but don't) about integrity and optics and one of their umpires said that they were going to work for a betting company and instead of alarm bells going off, they ticked it off because they do not care what the average AFL fan thinks

No major stakeholder should be employed by a betting agency, I'd have thought it was just common sense. As soon as Foot came to them to advise them that he got the offer, he should have been told by the AFL that its one or the other. They treat us for fools

Did anyone see Ben Long's treatment of Oliver? Bit over the top but it was Oliver so I'm okay with it. Kinda wish we had him in our side

Oliver been great all year for GWS. Chance to make the All Aus extended squad if he keep this up.

The day the AFL approved Foot's employment with Sportsbet should have been the day that the CEO or whoever did it should have been sacked.

"O'Driscoll pocketed a career-ending injury payment of over $150,000, but, like many brain-injured footballers struggling to work, he is exploring other compensation options.

In addition, the AFLPA's Severe Injury Benefit (SIB) fund provides payments of up to $600,000 for those left permanently injured by the game and unable to work full-time.

O'Driscoll applied for a payout from the fund but recently learned his application had been rejected."

Sheesh.

Are the Saints ever going to be good?

With their recruits they should be battering Carlton. They might still, but this quarter has been anaemic.
As long as they aren’t good when we play them in June. I’m going to be in Melbourne for it and will be going. I need to see a win for my one and only Melbourne game in 4 years
